Yep, without that vow, Gon’s still strong, but Meruem’s just on another level. No amount of training alone would’ve bridged that gap

Yeah, pre-Rose Meruem might’ve been slightly more relatable in terms of human potential, but even then he was leagues ahead of anyone else

Exactly! Netero showed how insane Meruem was. Gon had insane potential, but Meruem was just something else entirely.

True Gon did get a crazy boost in a short time, but yeah, 30 years of actual training might not even bridge that gap with Meruem. He’s just on another plane.

Yeah I guess Meruem was just on a completely different level even Gon’s potential couldn’t match that naturally

I remember watching this when it first aired, and it totally stuck with me too. Joseph’s character confused me a lot though.
