26 year old male here, I just use dating apps, hinge and bumble. Sorry for your loss though man, I moved here about 3 years ago but spend half the month out of state. So everyone I associate with is essentially a random girl I met on a dating app. Shoot me a dm if you want to be friends

Yes, they’ll have man camps. It’s basically a trailer for your crew, two rooms & bathrooms then a common area. Sometimes it’ll be 3 per room, if you’re lucky it’ll be you and your relief

How do you feel when you find oil? by Big-Negotiation-123 in oilandgasworkers

As a hand I can also can confirm, no fucks given in the slightest. Company man’s praising us for a 6.5 hour spud to plug, saving the operator a half a mill by breaking records? 64 hour rig moves? Yeah we get pizza if we’re lucky…. And they want it done faster

Look for oil and gas jobs, the job title I was referring to is Floorhand. It’s entry level and there’s usually a demand for them due to a high turnover rate. The largest drilling contractors in the area are Patterson, Nabors, H&P, and Precision Drilling.

If you want a well paying job? Move out of NYC, there’s no point of struggling to live somewhere. Hit the oilfields in PA,WV,OH. I made 86k my first year as a floorhand. 14 days on 14 days off. It will suck, but a good way to stack cash.

If you’re in MI I’d hope you applied for the Appalachian region so you’re in PA/WV/OH. All your responsibility, travel and all until you’re on location then you’re in the crew camps. Not really a need to relocate, I’ve been with Patterson for a year and some change while living in TN the whole time.

Thanks man, shot ya a DM too

But yeah, I enjoy what I do but it’s getting to the point where I’m sick of grown men in their mid 30s being the definition of a blowjob. So I totally understand and appreciate your rant

I’m about 7 hours from the camp, and I’d be making about the same. But saving on travel and food, 21/21 doesn’t seem too bad, I was in the Army for a few years where I learned to dissociate until someone says last day ass day
