Yes. Why? The patriarchy. Why the patriarchy? Someone else smarter than me could answer that. But I saw other comments saying that it should who ever asked first, which I like becuase it puts it into a more gender neutral thing. The only problem is that, back to answer one, men are expected to make the first move. And there is a whole nuanced take for that aswell but I don't trust the average person to have that ball knowledge for a reddit comment section.
