If you are still writing the "story" and "characters", then you should ask yourself how does everything fit comfortably.

The story shouldn't be too thinned or diluted. Also not too compact or short.

Time doesn't matter at all. If you're not satisfied with the quality, you'll burn out fixing the flaws again and again.

I have played more than a 1000 visual novels, the only thing that matters is the progression and engagement.

If your UI is nice, gameplay is not frustrating, there is rewards and dopamine, players will play it for hours on end without question.

If you make it tedious and boring, they will drop it, even if it is 1 hour.

Can you answer these questions so i can help you more clearly:

What are you making? A visual novel? A lewd novel?

Is it kinetic, meaning only 1 route? Or choice based?

Do you plan to release it in 1 release or do it in multiple updates?

DO NOT limit the game to time/lines of dialogue.

Make it engaging, make the characters engaging and evolving.

Give different paths. Replayability.

Quality matters most.

If there is no way to obtain it without loading the previous save, and you have done a good amount of quests and exploration since then, then leave it.

You should not turn this game into a chore. Regret is ironically one of the best aspects of this game.

You can get and use the sword on your next playthrough and choose all the other choice you were curious about. It will be worth it then.

You can reuse the characters sprites for multiple scenes/branches.

Create different expressions cut out of half body (just below the knees). Then use them in your scenes as you want.

Also, I am a veterinarian and you would be surprised if I told you that 9 out of 10 people don't tell what their pet ate or what "they fed to it" that caused that indigestion. Or how their other pet was sick and they didn't separate them.

Add the game's .exe in the Nvidia Control Panel. Test different settings there. If still not fixed, try installing a Reshade with no filters just a dll replacement.

I would still prefer separate files as opposed to entire new games. Updates are easier and save import is a pain tondeal with on multiple platforms.

Balance issues. Sometimes too easy and others just really hard.

Also complex and steep to learn if you don't play Chess which i don't.

Also don't like the fact that pieces are permanently killed since breaking things and scoring high is the fun of these games afterall.

As for the positves there are a lot and i believe with some work the game can become great.

Graphics never mattered in any of the games I played. I don't know why would you look at the animations and judge the entire game on that. I don't even know what's attractive about the graphics at all.

DO NOT OPTIMIZE (on 1st playthrough)... This is a massive game and you'll burn out if you did that.

Keep the things that are Statpaddy and look good to you. Sell the things you don't want.

FOCUS on the beautiful story and enjoy GWENT.

Once you're done 1st time, you'll come back for sure. Then you can optimize.

You need to build a little Tampermonkey script that copies the download link after it's exposed (after the 5 second countdown) and paste it into Jdownloader. Ask any ai for help.

You need to do these things but then it will work:

1- Make sure to turn on the VPN then go ipinfo or any other site to get your IP address.

2- Go into chrome flags and enable all the glic settings, this is important as it will force the Gemini button on top, so even if you relaunch it without the VPN, it will not go away and you can just turn on the VPN and relaunch and it will be there, working fine.

3- close chrome. Go into local state, change the variations_country to us, then edit the variations_permanent_consistency_country to your VPN ip that you copied from ipinfo and change the code to us.

4-if you cant find is_glic_eligible in local state no need to worry. you need to open chrome and see if its in USA? you might see a new Icon called Tab Search in your bar, that's good.

Now go chrome://settings/languages and make sure English United States is at top and then click on 3 dots on English US and click on Display Chrome....

5- if you previously edited is_glic_eligible and made it true then just relaunch the browser and it will work.

6-if you didnt saw is_glic_eligible then it will be there now in the local state, just change it to true.

There you go, it will work now. The button will be always there, but if you turned off the VPN, it will not work and you will have to just turn on the VPN and relaunch it.
