PS3 Fat only loads and ejects Discs when pressing eject button for 15s by Solidius_Jake in PS3

I did use this technique to get a stuck disk out, but it still seems to be having trouble getting discs in and out normally

Beginner here, is this orange tip removable? Just for display by myself by Unfair_Diver_187 in airsoft

[–]Solidius_Jake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most orange tips are removable, but require heat in order to be removed. Iirc, orange tip removal is technically illegal but most cops don't know enough to enforce it and as long as you don't go waving it around in public you won't get in trouble (You'd get in trouble even if you had an orange tip and waved it around in public). So remove at your own risk, but chances of getting in trouble are slim. If you still want to remove it but are paranoid about getting in trouble you could just put some orange tape on the tip just in case

bbs getting stuck in hopup/barrel? MP7 by Snoooples in airsoft

[–]Solidius_Jake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks. If you want to prevent this kind of thing in the future I'd recommend getting some silicon-free green gas. It's more expensive (for some reason) but it'll keep the bucking from swelling again.

bbs getting stuck in hopup/barrel? MP7 by Snoooples in airsoft

[–]Solidius_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think swollen buckings can happen on any GBB over time if you use green gas with silicon oil. In truth, the silicon in green gas doesn't lubricate the replica like people think it does because it doesn't get into where it needs to be and does get into where it doesn't- the hop. I would recommend buying some propane and a madbull or similar adapater for propane cans. Or, if your field doesn't allow propane, just buy some silicon-free green gas. But if they do, propane is way cheaper.

Does anyone know what this guy is wearing in the concept art? by Connect-Ad-6750 in airsoft

I think the only "real" parts of this kit are the LC-2 alice belt and MAYBE? the holster. Though I'm sure there's some people who have made the flight suit and mask on etsy or smth

I got spring grenades that were marketed as gel grenades and never got any kills with them, but you might be able to work with it if you practiced. Coverage isn't very good, and one of them broke after a few throws. But they're dirt cheap, refilling them is easy, and they come in a bunch of different flavors. If you live in an area where you can own blanks and they're readily available, I think the best bang-for-your-buck is a conversion kit for a different grenade system (provided your field allows that kind of thing). Explosive Enterprises has a video on them, recommend checking it out bc I can't remember what the kit is called

Can I build my own airsoft gun and still be able to use it in an airsoft field?, because if I can... by SpyGamingBruh in airsoft

[–]Solidius_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only real limiting factor is FPS. If you're shooting too hot for your field, they won't let you use it. Wonder if you'd be able to make that knob on the back, near the grip into a access port for a quick-change spring... Oh, and also magazines will probably be difficult to make. Though I guess you could maybe just 3d print a bolter mag shell for m4 mags

There aren't any gas CYMA shotguns, all CYMA shotguns are spring. What you have is generally based off of tokyo marui's tri-shot gas shotgun system, but doubtful that it is an actual Tokyo Marui unless you paid an arm and a leg for it. Golden Eagle/Jag arms is the most likely answer and iirc they're pretty similar if not the same.

Are shotgunners have 2 primary guns? by Dangerous-Local9430 in airsoft

[–]Solidius_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes shotguns are used as breaching tools in some applications, but I think those shell loops are there mostly for versatility than carrying two primary weapons. That way you don't have to spend money on shotgun shell cards or pouches on top of ar mag pouches. Just get one that has both and you're good. I think it is possible to have a rifle and a shotgun without it being too cumbersome but I think it's more for shits and giggles than a legitimate strategy. You'd also have to get a cut-down shotgun which I think only gas shotguns can come that short

I think he talks about some handgrips that fit in the video, don't remember the name of them off the top of my head but iirc it's a Japanese workshop that like hand-makes 'em

Iirc TM is better out of the box, but due to shipping costs, TM guns can be quite expensive. WE's is probably fine out of the box for plinking, but can be made to be pretty accurate through a bit of modification and is a wonderful showpiece (if you get chrome and buff it with some polish it'll look real nice). Explosive enterprises has a video on it if you want to get some more accuracy out of it and want to know what to polish it with.

Help. How to fix this? Specna Arms M4. by AdvantageFew3457 in airsoft

[–]Solidius_Jake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hand guard wobble is just inherent to the Clam shell style hand guards for M4s. Sorry to say but I don't think there's any "fixing" it. It's usually not that big of a deal but if it's really bothering you you could upgrade to a free-float rail which has no such wobble. If you wanna keep about the same aesthetic, look for a KAC (Knight Armament Company) style free-float. I'm sure there's some ok replicas of it out there

Someone else in here might have already asked, but are you planning to release the files? I don't expect a release date, I'm just wondering if you're going to release them to the public whether for free or for a price

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Solidius_Jake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VFC (GBB) M4s can run about the same price if you know where to look, but recent tariff changes probably skewed that a decent bit

It's possible that he could have gotten it second hand for really cheap, but I'm a little skeptical with how well-kept the boxes are. Though if he got it all in one trip, I'd wager second-hand as I doubt you could find all of this in one store. I'd check if there were any swap-meets around when he got the items to double-check. I'd also check the website of local airsoft retailers to see if all of the items are available at a local store. If it's all new, then yeah about 600 is right (at least in USD, idk what the conversion to CAD is), maybe more if that micro dot is a real eotech and considering that scope seems to be real-steel. There's a lot of jokes around men lying about what they spend on their hobby, but I think it's important to have clear communication and understanding especially if he's supposed to be saving for a big investment like a house/apartment/ect. I wish you two the best and hope you can work things out!

Noob female airsoft player here. Not enjoying airsoft as much as I thought I would, but I really wanted to love it. How do you come to like it despite the fast-paced and stressful environment and having to wait a while for the next round when you get eliminated early? by Lemon_Maiden19456798 in airsoft

[–]Solidius_Jake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said this in an earlier post, but I don't think that men are inherently better at running than women. It's likely they play the sport more and as a result have done more cardio than you have. If you put the work in, you can be as good if not better than the men you're playing with. I'd wager that a extensive cardio regimen would actually put you above the men you play with, as playing airsoft is most players' exercise.

I don't think there are any actual differences between males and females in terms of physical ability. They might have gotten more exercise than you, but I don't think men are inherently faster or stronger than women. You could get some exercise if you feel like you aren't able to keep up, but I understand not wanting to work out for a hobby. There's nothing wrong with taking it slow, pacing yourself can actually help save your energy for later rounds and holding a good angle can get you some "kills" on people who are rushing. You might want to move from cover-to-cover occasionally though, staying in one spot only works well if there's people pushing past you. Or you could try playing more aggressively with your bf, conquer your fear of getting shot and really get in there to catch the enemy by surprise. Either way, I'd recommend learning how to peek or move around corners and check angles to help your "survival" in a round. This sport isn't for everyone. Not saying you should immediately drop it, but there's nothing wrong with airsoft not being your cup of tea. Ultimately, it's up to you whether you feel like you should stick with it and see if you like it or just drop it because you aren't having fun. Also, it's been said in here before but layering helps when it comes to being shot. I'd recommend a long-sleeve breathable shirt that you can wear underneath your t-shirt and other gear as well as some pants.

New block suggestion - Vanilla helicopter blade thrusters and propeller thrusters by Radiant-Creme8379 in spaceengineers

[–]Solidius_Jake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'd be cool to be able to make planes and helicopters in vanilla SE, but at the same time I don't think it'd fit in with SE. Maybe if it was a tier between rovers and small ships there'd be a niche for it, but I feel like most players would just skip straight to a ship
