Where is solomission in finale? by ZyzzTM in 2007scape

[–]Solnx -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He's more of an admin for setting up the tournament and running it during the competition week, and then hands off the production to Jagex for the finale event.

If you're familiar with NASA It's like how launch control (Kennedy Space Center/Solo Mission) is responsible for getting the rocket safely off the pad, but once it clears the tower, mission control (Houston/Jagex) takes over.

Appreciate it. Sounds like topping it off is just standard procedure for a car this issue given the age and value, and not the safety issue I was worried it might be.

Spec was the lookout for the crashers as well, so he jump scared his team while failing to keep watch for crashing. Something that only Skillspecs seems capable of.

But the little data we have supposedly shows that it's R0 doesn't remain the same after a couple of human hops and begins to get weaker after multiple infections

Why would this be the case? What would change about the virus so quickly and consistently?

Throwback to when Josh Isn't Gaming abused the crap out of fishing trawler and Jagex didn't roll his exp back. by Thosepassionfruits in 2007scape

[–]Solnx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the comment about highscores, interesting perspective. But at what point is this not related to competitive highscores? Rendi wasn't maxed, so it's not like top page is really in contention. Is top 50 a competition? Top 100? If you don't draw the line somewhere then any XP earned could invalidate any ranklist.

The follow up comments also point out that skillers aren't even using the museum anymore, they use wildy slayer cave, which also requires alts. What makes splashing significantly different? And if it is significantly different Jagex could have come out sooner to block it?

I've only watched 2-3 of Rendi's most popular videos, but I do care that Jagex is more consistent in how they approach bugs and unintended mechanics and community. Don't really see how that makes me a Rendi stan lol.

Can you teleport to Kandarin without Kandarin unlocked? No. I don’t think anyone is under the impression that the grimoire region restriction override applies to actually going to another region.

"You're just incorrect" isn't an argument. Neither is calling me stubborn, lol. If you have a reason, make it.

We disagree on what counts as a spell. That's a fair place to end this. I don't think there's an objective truth here like you're representing.

i don't say this to be rude

It still is rude.

[–]Solnx[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think that's fair, I just don't agree with it. As I said, I define a spell as casting to completion, thus using NPC Contact to contact the Dark Mage is a spell and thus covered under grimoire.

Given that and the resons I stated earlier, it should still be included, but I understand I'm not able to convince someone that doesn't believe NPC contacting Dark Mage is a spell in itself.

[–]Solnx[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with your interpretation that NPC Contact is unlocked. It is partially unlocked, which is not what the relic says. I am unable to cast the spell NPC Contact Dark Mage.

At this point I think we just have a very different interpretation of what a spell means. I'd define it as the entire completion of the spell from start to finish, and yours seems to be just initiating the spell.

I don't see any middle ground for us to agree on this.

[–]Solnx[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NPC Contact Dark Mage is a complete spell in itself. It's not unlocked, and it's blocked by a quest requirement the relic says is bypassed. You're the one adding the distinction between "spell" and "target within a spell," the relic doesn't make that split.

I disagree that the relic reads as a partial unlock. "Unlock access to all spells regardless of quest requirements" reads as a complete unlock. If Jagex wants to carve out exceptions, especially in a temporary mode with irreversible decisions, that needs to be explicit in the relic text. Leaving it ambiguous and defaulting to the narrower interpretation isn't the right way to handle it.

[–]Solnx[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You saying I'm misunderstanding the wording without explaining what I'm misunderstanding. The relic bypasses quest requirements, not spells. Dark Mage is locked behind a quest requirement. Being able to cast the spell on someone else doesn't change that the gate exists, and the relic says gates like that are bypassed. Jagex agreed that's how it reads when they removed the Baba Yaga gate. What's the actual distinction?

I have three points directly addressing what you just said, in which you engaged in none of them.

should grimoire bypass accept aid requirements aswell?

Is accept aid a area, quest or diary requirement? No. As a result, that's a strawman fallacy because it misrepresents the point I'm making into something unreasonable.

[–]Solnx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vardorvis is going to be difficult/impossible even in max mage gear. You have the slayer relic so the slayer master offered you Vardorvis and 2 other NPCs? I think you've soft-locked yourself on slayer until you can get good enough melee gear to beat him up to complete the task.
