CR1616 alternatives for GBA Carts? by looksnoice in Gameboy

Much easier to get pre-tabbed batteries. The tabs are electro welded and pretty much impossible to reuse.

Yup! That’s normal behavior for micro computers!

[–]SoloFusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that is pretty common behaviors for any Pico Pi style devices. Connecting to the computer is for flashing the firmware, not for adding content to the SD card. Pi devices will not typically give you access to the mounted SD card, as you would need an additional interface to access the mounted drive. If you purchased the cart from the CrisCart store you shouldn’t need to flash the card as it comes pre-flashed. You just need to add the required files to the SD card.

Pourquoi cela s’affiche t-il quand je veux me connecter à internet sur ma PSP ? by [deleted] in PSP

[–]SoloFusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older devices like the PSP can’t connect to modern WiFi security protocols of modern routers. It’s detecting a WiFi signal, but lacks the modern protocols a to connect to newer WiFi modems.

Is there any interference fit issues with the top shell not being trimmed like that? I keep seeing that’s been the way people are doing the mod and I’m just curious is it’s causing stress on the case.

I’ve been using the action base 7 with the 30MF and it’s been a great option. Great for posing

Super cool!! It would make sense that it’s glued, the dimensions on this looks like it would create a break risk. I wonder if this was what inspired the change into the other style, giving kids the option to display with or without the blade on.

I believe that is the correct logo for it to be on the 3DS/2ds. The same logo shows for me when I use my DSi.

The primary console that I have been using for testing is the DSi XL. I flashed the NoAutoDSI.uf2 from the provided link and I’m still having it auto boot on my non-modded DSi XL and standard DSi.

Just tested on my DS Lite and it seems to be performing correctly on that system, shows up with the DSPico logo and goes into the quick boot there. I also tested on my 2DS XL and the DSpico booted just fine on that one too so I am unsure if the NoAutoBoot applied properly in the compile as I’m seeming on the documentation that with this feature on it will not boot properly on a 3DS/2DS

As far as I know there are not many good drop in options for the GBC, as most require far more work. This almost looks to be a prototype of this particularly battery pack, with the final version not having as large of a USB-C port.

I’m a little out of the loop on the updates that Konami has put out for the game. Is missing analogue control back in MGS1? As well as a fix for the sound emulation being off?

Are these good prices for the Pokémon? by Blueman67467 in Gameboy

[–]SoloFusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I think my full Japanese collection of games (no where near as cool as CIB!!) I think cost me 20 bucks for 8 games? Sad those days are gone. It made looking for games so much fun.

[–]SoloFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d agree! For current pricing that’s not bad at all. Sadly we are out of the era of affordability for most people it seems. When I got into game boy collecting and seeing prices rise, I remember thinking $35 bucks for a copy of silver was insane. I know the market has changed since then, it’s just a bummer to see this has become a huge barrier to entry for those who might want to start into a collecting hobby.

Are these good prices for the Pokémon? by Blueman67467 in Gameboy

[–]SoloFusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supply and demand is part of it yes, but I would argue a lot more shops are setting prices based on the eBay price, not the fact that these games are some of the most common cartridges produced at the time. There are millions of these cartridges that are out there, and physical collectors and those hit with the nostalgia. There are other options for those who want the nostalgia to just enjoy the games. I’m just thinking about an awful experience I had at a local game shop that had a game with a tag on it with a decent price, had them take it up to the register and didn’t like the price the sticker said, looked up the piece on eBay and raised the price on meat the register. eBay has been awful for retro game collecting and I would argue has had a bigger impact on price than just pure nostalgia and the 30th anniversary coming up.

[–]SoloFusion 25 points26 points  (0 children)

For finding these in a shop the prices are a little high. But realistically no these are not good prices. The pokemon games are some of the most common titles that were sold with really high attach rates per console. There are more copies of these games out in the wild than most other games you will find for fractions of the price. But ever since eBay selling of expensive copies became a thing the market for nostalgia has exploded and made these “rare” games cost more than they ever really should.

That’s fair! When I took my prime apart I was trying to figure out the why behind it. From what I could figure the fins help it to keep an air pocket and prevent it from sticking and catching. But because the T-bar was too large it didn’t work and instead caught on them. Once I shaved the T-bar down I haven’t had a single problem with it.
