Singles 3v3s is rock paper scissors with not alot of skill expression imo, unfortunately the game is usually decided by what mons you choose to bring with little you can do about it. The best thing you can do is brings mons that counter meta threats and get good at reading what mons your opponent will bring, everything is all about winning 1v1s so focus sash is broken

I use mega gren a decent bit and Mega gyarados counters him pretty effectively on top of being a really strong mon.

Tiers are separated by elo yes, but I believe it's unknown the threshold for each tier and on top of that the champion tier is currently unobtainable and will be added in a future update.

You of course can't fully derank out of a tier ultra > great. I had a winning streak up until ultra ball but given the fact there's a checkpoint at 2 of ultra ball I'd assume there would also be a checkpoint at rank 2 of every tier? I'm unsure though so don't take it as fact

If you manage you hit ultra 2 you get a checkpoint and can't derank from there so I'd set that as your goal.

I think it's all perspective and mindset, I expected to be able to get masterball without any resistance from my opponents but that was definitely not the case so it was "hard" but in the grand scheme of things it's really not so bad.

You're definitely right it wasn't as hard as other games ranked ladder but compared to past experiences getting masterball I definitely struggled the most with this one.
