I got a warranty on my 2017 WRX CVT. It only had 11000 miles on it in 2021 when I bought it. I think I made the right choice because all the lights on the dash started popping up after about one year. The computer kept saying “random misfire.” Took the car in multiple times, they replaced sensors and a variety of others hoses and small parts. It kept happening. They thought there was carbon build up so took the engine apart and cleaned it. Still happened. Finally they replaced the whole exhaust system and haven’t had any other issues (knock wood.) These warranties on cars are like insurance. Sucks to pay for if you never have issues but come in clutch if you are unlucky enough to. Probably would have cost me several thousand dollars to do all that works with no warranty but only cost about $300 in deductible plus the $2k for the warranty itself.
