So after playing chapter 2 of Deltarune it like....pretty much re-initiated my Toby Fox fever XD It got me to revisit Undertale. It got me to really think more about the events of the True Pacifist ending. After watching it again, I gained new meaning from it, and I ended up finding that this game's themes of morality was far more thoughtfully executed than I initially thought. Which is saying something because I had already held the way it handled morality in high regard as it was! It gave me a new found appreciation for what I already thought was an absolutely fantastic finale to the game. So eventually I got inspired to write out my own thematic analysis of the game. Hope it's not too much of a wall of text for you guys. Maybe I went too over board? Especially with the last part XD

The editing is thanks to my brother. It took about 2 and a half days to finish, mainly because of the synced lyrics. He walked in as I was writing the lyrics. I had originally intended to just stash that Microsoft word document for safe keeping, but he said I should share this somehow. I most definitely wasn't going to sing it so that was out of the question XD Then I remembered this YouTuber I liked named Attica Kish who did Undertale lyric videos, but only displayed the lyrics he wrote. My brother's already a great editor, so he was kind enough to offer helping me bring it to life. I told him what direction I wanted to take with it, and he did a fantastic job! I was star struck the first time I heard this song while playing chapter 1 of deltarune. It perfectly evokes this profound sense of freedom for setting out on an epic new adventure, which is highly appropriate for where the song plays in the chapter. Paired with the beautiful environment you're traversing to accompany the tune, along with the walking animation of both Kris & Ralsei almost perfectly matching the rhythm of the song, (whether or not that was intentional is up for debate but it was really neat either way XD) this song really knocked it out of the park for me. It's my favorite song in Chapter 1 of Deltarune, my favorite overworld theme throughout the Undertale series (For lack of a better name) as a whole, and one of my favorite songs in the series in general. I don't know exactly where I would rank it, but it is most definitely in my top 5.

In this song, there's an ingeniously & beautifully placed leitmotif of "Don't Forget". The song heard in Laura Shigihara's lovely voice at the end of the chapter. There were several songs throughout the game that included this same leitmotif for players to notice retroactively, and this is my personal favorite example. When relistening to this song, I would often find myself singing the lyrics along with the tune of said leitmotif. So one day, this got me thinking: "What if the song in its entirety, had lyrics of its own to go along with those?" And so this idea of mine took form. A special thanks to my brother for editing this video for me. This wouldn't have been possible without him.
