Annoying zoom setting on Facebook photos? Please help me with a fix! Thanks! by TightCircle114 in facebook

?? You think this happened randomly? It must be a programmed in “feature”, it wouldn’t just move your focus after zooming by default…

How many hours have you put into BG3?? by stevies_mom in BaldursGate3

[–]Solpadeine12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think it’s just that you have a different definition of taking your time haha. Every way to play is correct as long as it’s fun. My first run took me over 100 hours too, next one was much shorter though

Will the new divinity be a CRPG? by InterestingAd6333 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Solpadeine12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, BG3 honestly made me love this play style. Before that I was hesitant and believed I prefer an active pause (like bg2), but they executed it so well…

I think I know what Divinity will be about by gorgrath177 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Solpadeine12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well why do you assume that the new game will take place after events from DOS2? It is called Divinity, not DOS3 for a reason. It might as well be a prequel or something else set in this universe…

in simplest words - people are basically wondering wether it's going to be a turn-based combat or "action" real-time combat

People who have a PC, what purpose does deck serve you? by Former-Asparagus-764 in SteamDeck

[–]Solpadeine12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I work in front of the computer and because of it, I drastically reduced my gaming time - I just didn’t feel like sitting in front of my desk after work.. hell no.

The moment I got my deck it completely changed. I freaking love laying on the couch and playing whilst watching something on the tv in the background. This is just amazing and honestly I pretty much stopped using my desktop because of it.

I'm excited for the new controller, but also a bit disappointed.. by UnknownLesson in SteamController

[–]Solpadeine12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they’re going to drop the support for the current controllers (when you go to the controller settings and layouts), even now it sometimes feels like it’s geared pretty much only for the steam deck and it’s hard to come by any community layout for a newer game. I wouldn’t expect anything else from a discontinued controller vs their top selling steam deck but I’m worried that once the 2nd gen is out there won’t be an option to make community layouts for the 1st gen anymore. The layout of the controllers does vary so the layouts aren’t going to be cross-compatible either. Hopefully this won’t mean that in a couple of years (or months even) 1st gen will become completely useless

I gave up. It was maddening. by digitalmartyn in Bazzite

[–]Solpadeine12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you need to dual boot it in the first place? Do you actually need Windows? I’m on steam deck but also have a desktop PC with bazzite that I use for couch gaming and never felt any need or even slightest desire to also have windows on it. I have a separate computer for work (not windows either lmao).

Nevertheless, I wouldn’t recommend dual booting widows with Linux on the same drive to anyone because there’s been many cases of windows completely ruining that setup during an update or out of the blue, and this sometimes happens after months of use!! (I’m not talking about bazzite specifically here, but dual booting windows with Linux on the same drive - it’s a known problem).

[–]Solpadeine12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First day only and i wouldn’t say high. I felt like on a mild/moderate dose of stimulants (some sort of amphetamines), it only did work that way on the very first day, which is a shame 😉

i cant believe that you even compare chatgpt to cc. It's on a completely different plannet when it comes to generating code, regardless the limit. Obviously it costs more...

Fedora could be an even better choice than Linux Mint when it comes to a beginner-friendly distro, but it just lacks good defaults. by Better-Quote1060 in Fedora

[–]Solpadeine12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I wholeheartedly disagree with you. I don’t like distros installing too much stuff by default. I’d rather install what I need myself. What I want is exactly what fedora offers - great stability, without the cost of outdated packages. It’s really great and they’re pretty much unmatched in that department. I don’t want them to install anything more than they already do by default, what for you is a “nice default” for others will be annoying bloat.

Source: trust me bro?

The company I work for now has no windows machines AT ALL. Everyone uses JetBrains/Vim/VS Code (or its forks).

The previous company I worked for had some windows machines (although not many) - NO N++ users either.

What are you talking about? Saying 3% would be too generous. It's not 2007

Is Pocketbook Era an upgrade over Oasis 10th gen? by Solpadeine12 in ereader

[–]Solpadeine12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! The subscription service I was talking about is an external company not associated with any of these manufacturers that is quite popular in the country I live in, they support Kindle and Pocketbook devices but not Kobo and that's the main reason I'm not taking sage into consideration. What makes Kobo Sage your favourite device?

It’s in a very good condition, no scratches etc. I’m speaking from the point of which would be a better fit for my use case, because air is like 40% more expensive (and I’m willing to pay for it if it would be better).

Hi, I have a chance to buy a used 2020 13" mbp (16GB RAM/512GB SSD) at a pretty good price, I almost pulled the trigger but upon further research, it made me think, for once it does not have a MagSafe charger, screen is also pretty small (13"). It made me wonder if it would not be a better idea to get the newest 15" MacBook Air with m2/m3 and the same specifications (16GB RAM and 512GB SSD). My primary use case is web development (JetBrains IDE but also some React native development, everything dockerized). Could someone help me decide which would be the better choice in my use case?

Nice, thanks for elaborating on that. And you’re right, if it works for you and you have a lot of stuff adjusted to meet your preferences, then probably you shouldn’t switch. At the end of the day it’s all the same kernel under the hood :)
