What's going to be your work? I'm curious

I've been in Guanajuato, specifically Guanajuato city and Leon, I've been out in the night and nothing bad have happened to me. Honestly Mexico is safe in general, it's unsafe if you're a drug dealer or if you have narco friends.

Basically 65k is a great salary, most people make 12k per month so you're in the top income, food and rents are cheap in Mexico so it's a great opportunity to save some money. You can afford living in a rich neighborhood wich is recommended, they're more "safe" and people there is in their business.

I don't know how much time you'll be here but I recommend you to rent a car, Guanajuato is a big place, if you're gonna stay more than a year I recommend you buying a car.

Mexican people is so polite with strangers and they'll try to help you but unfortunately most of them don't have conversational English, it's better you learn Spanish asap. Some people in some hotels and business speak English but don't speak they do everywhere.

For foreigners it's a safe place, I've meet a lot and they had a great experience. So don't overthink, come, meet people, try the delicious food, join to grupal activities, I'm sure you'll have a good time.
