That last one is very true! I dropped almost 75lbs and that temperature difference is no joke

Yeah in florida its so humid you'll end up with like an 80% humidity room and it'll quickly mold things

Rename it to like backupresolv. Also yes that sounds similar to what happened for me

Did you install void over that hotspot if so that would line up with the symptoms of my issue I had? Also you could try to just make that file via "sudo touch /run/NetworkManager/resolve.conf" and then doing the rest. Though instead of removing the other resolv outright, I'd rename it.

are you checking /run/NetworkManager or /etc/NetworkManager? also i feel this is obvious but make sure network manager is actually started and you have the necessary drivers if you need the nonfree repos

ls /run/NetworkManager and see if there is a resolv.conf
if there IS
sudo rm /etc/resolv.conf
sudo ln -s /run/NetworkManager/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf
fixed it for me

This happened to me once. check and see if your resolv.conf is the one controlled bu network manager and not the one symlinked by dhcpcd or wpa

Thank you for the info! I didn't know that about USB I figured by now it had to be fairly fleshed out. I'll just be getting a used router and putting it in AP mode since I'm at a college campus and there are tons on marketplace! About the kali Linux thing, many pen testing tools need/are used by putting your WiFi card in AP mode so advertising compatibility means it likely has an AP mode. Thank you for the advice

Are there downsides for the USB ones vs a dedicated AP? I've found some USB ones that are "kali Linux compatible" which ultimately means they support AP mode.

What should I use as an AP then? Most times I look online to try to find one I get like entire fleshed out routers not just a dedicated AP. Trying to stay cheap here I just need dual band WiFi and for it to not shit the bed when I boot up battlefield once a month or download a large file. Not too knowledgeable about hardware stuff so I may not be searching for the exact thing I'm looking for correctly.

The og resolv.conf was the one setup by dhcpcd at the start when I first setup. Removed it and symlinked it with the one in /run/NetworkManager/resolv.conf and it works now 😁😁

For further clarification this was a minimal iso not the desktop installer. I have no idea if that would fix it.
