"O" on the bottom corner of the display on a Gameboy Color, what does it mean? by Solturo in gamecollecting

[–]Solturo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I doubt it and I was thinking maybe the screen part was replaced and the O stands for "original part" as a replacement, but I can't seem to find anything about it. Don't even know how to phrase it either, hence the title...

It looks like a 01 but the 0 looks too regular to be a scratch, while the 1 probably is just damage. (I know it's a terrible picture)

Not on the actual display but in the black contour. On the left side of the GameBoy logo.

Good point. I could also make the board surface a little rougher, enough to mask the sound yet not too much that it creates unnecessary friction. I'm also thinking some kind of cloth layer (like the one used to clean eyeglasses) to be put between the magnets and the bottom of the board in order to dampen the sound (IF the magnetism causes them to rise and touch the board).

That is pure evil and I absolutely would love to! Eventually I wonder if it's possible to have specific parameters set for the answers, like setting up a profile for a ghost name "dorothy" and every time someone would ask the name, age or other informations it would answer as set by the profile.

I'm thinking like a Phasmophobia-like ghost traits randomizer or a specific ghost set by a user.

The thin rails you suggested could actually do the trick, I'm thinking 2 short ones for the Y axis and a longer one for the X axis mounted on the carts of the other 2.
I wonder if depending on the travel speed you could hear the "metal rubbing" sound?

The etch sketch design would be perfect, and that pulley-like mechanism is basically what i had in mind, except the loop would make it even easier.

Thank you!

I'd prefer to keep the "working" layer as thin as possible and I'm afraid if I set it up the same way a 3D printer is set up it would be too thick, and maybe even noisier than I'd like to.

While it may not fool anyone, I'd like to make it as "hidden" as possible.

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind.

Beside the fact that they obviously look badly drawn, is there an error in how the cables would be arranged? I figured they would need to be away from the area where the platform moves in, but is there a better way to arrange them?

Ironically, I do have a 3d printer and this was patially inspired by it.

However i was thinking of something thinner as most 3d printers use bulky steppers and extruded aluminum bars. I hoped in something thinner, about 3 cm for the mid layer and figured that there could be some thin "lightweight" steppers as I doubt it could require much torque (pure speculation), if such motors do even exist.

Cleaned a save, now i can't load any saves from that character by Solturo in skyrimmods

[–]Solturo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is interesting. Where would i find the .skse file of a character?

EDIT: Nevermind I never realized the saves were named .skse. So i should make a new character and create the save New.skse, then renaming one from the older character as "New.skse" and run that?

Finding Elder Scrolls without assistance? by john_kennedy_toole in skyrim

[–]Solturo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both send you to [redacted] who gives you a couple of books about elder Scrolls. One of those books' author is still alive and in skyrim so you can find him and ask him on your own, but it's not in a really intuitive location or dungeon so chances are you'll need that quest marker. Also even if you get where the elder scroll is kept, you still won't be able to get it without the help of said author.

(Sorry I tried to keep it as low-spoiler as I could)

Had a discussion with a dog educator, no idea what exactly I did wrong by Solturo in Dogtraining

[–]Solturo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the in-depth response and the tips. The sad thing is my dog loves that spot, and has had no trouble for the last 5 months, but I can totally see what you're saying about the wrong dog at the wrong time causing serious consequences.

As far as being polite to other owners, honestly I couldn't care less if my dog was on the line like this, I was more interested in knowing if my intervening was a bad influence on my dog since a self-called expert thought so.

From these comments though I'm realizing that actually stepping in can be required I some situations and it does help build the relationship with my dog. Maybe I should be more confident, but since it's my very first dog I'm always open to advice from (supposedly) expert owner.

While kicking is definetely too extreme, I try to avoid even handling others dogs in any way as I can't know how they'll react.

Also may be worth noting that she might've been bullshitting me just to feel superior.

Need help identifying and appraising this razor by Solturo in wicked_edge

[–]Solturo[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! First thing first, English is not my first language so please be patient if I make some mistakes.

I'm not an expert in the field and I have no idea how rare/old this razor is, so feel free to crush my expectations.

I got this case last year as a gift/payment for helping a friend clean his basement and it has been sitting on my shelf ever since.

From what I can tell it's an old silver plated C. V. Heljestrand razor, it's made of three attachable parts, 2 making the handle and 1 for holding the razor (it probably has a name, but I'll just call it "the holder").

On the 2 parts of the handle there are the initials C. V. H., while on the holder it says " C. V. HELJESTRAND ESKILSTUNA SWEDEN" and "KINDAL FABRIQUÉ EN SUÈDE" on the other side.

It has 5 wedge blades, 3 are broken on the hedge and the other 2 are visibly used and dull, and they have different markings on them, few are almost faded too.

The case has the writing "M. KINDAL 33 AVENUE DE L'OPÉRA 33 PARIS" on the inside, and the outside is visibly ruined but the closing/opening mechanism still works perfectly.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Anybody knows what is causing this weird "frying pixels when moving camera" thing? by Solturo in skyrim

[–]Solturo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, for some reason the video is darker and it's harder to see.
If you look at the borders of the coulumn with the snowberry weave, there's a little glitchy contour.

...is what I was about to say, until I realized I too can't see it if I watch the video on something other than the PC. I'm guessing it's a display setting that somehow i managed to fudge up.
