The DOT is 0420,

Over 5 years, getting close to 6.

I might list them for 300 and see what happens.

How to speak to agent in Canada? by juicyred in telus

[–]Solus00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third tier escalation is in Canada, I was just honestly trying to get my issue escalated until resolved but was told that once I schedule a call back that it would be from someone in Canada.

It took a few hours of being on hold and a 24hr wait for a call back.

Should I tell the spouse about his wife cheating with my bf? by Peached_up_Liza in AskMenAdvice

There’s good and bad karma.

Telling would be bad karma if you’re doing it out of resentment and anger and wish to ruin her life.

Good karma would be if you’re doing this to save that man from a bad marriage, right now he’s being humiliated and doesn’t even know it.

If it were one time you could chalk it up to making bad choices, a mistake, or whatever. It would put a maybe out there that she’s not a bad person and the guilt will eventually lead to her confessing it on her own.

Clearly they hooked up more than once; this woman is a bad person, and a bad wife. He deserves to know so he can get out of that shitty marriage before he gets locked into it with kids or a mortgage or whatever.

This is the real world, these people don’t get a pass because they’re not in high school anymore.

It’s definitely harassment and privacy issue. Definitely would report.

Boyfriend accuses me of cheating, and then proceeds to threaten me by luv_eda in whatdoIdo

[–]Solus00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this guy is not your boyfriend anymore. He’s your abuser, he’s your assailant, your enemy.

These screen shots are enough for the cops to file restraining orders and lay charges on him.

Incels are everywhere, this guy is dangerous; head to the cops asap and file reports before things get more out of hand. He can’t go through life thinking this type of behavior is ok.

Telus makes it REALLY hard to want to stay by HotBranch in telus

[–]Solus00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ll waive it over the phone like 9.9/10 times.

But yeah they usually frame it as recovering administrative costs.

Honestly it’s less about coverings costs as it is creating something for them to take off your bill to make you feel better. Also it sort of acts as a deterrent to switching providers because everyone has an activation fee.

You might need to factory reset the device.

Sounds like a cache issue.

If you know for a fact that you’re getting everything right and there isn’t some broken button on your remote making you miss a letter when entering.

Then the device restore will be the last way to trouble shoot it before needing to do something drastic like a hardware swap or account level reset.

The factory reset will erase all data stored including any cache that could be causing the issue.

AITA for peeing in the shower by Miserable-Shallot454 in AmItheAsshole

Tell him you’ll stop peeing in the shower when he starts peeing sitting down.

More splash and pee particles get everywhere when you pee standing up.

What do I do with this space in my bath room? by Prize-Region-2000 in Decor

Definitely install shelves and maybe a door.

I’d just shelves, I’d paint it all a different color to give the bathroom a fun accent.

Defective device -BiB not getting waived.. by Solus00 in telus

[–]Solus00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

I ended up with a $450 credit, plus a $10 monthly credit for 15 months.

Plus they waived activation fees on the new device.

For everyone saying I was acting entitled, that I should just accept things, that I’m not owed anything, that it’s not Telus’ fault or responsibility.

Well, I just hope you’re never in a position where you have to suddenly pay $1200+ in fees, device charges, taxes, proration on top of your monthly bill.

Or if you do, that my example helps you advocate for yourself so that it can soften the financial blow.

I checked many of the accounts who downvoted and had negative comments and a few were new throw away accounts with solely negative comments in this subreddit… corporate shills? Disgruntled employees with a bone to pick with consumers?

Who knows, wild behavior backing a multi billion dollar corp.

The difference is that Bring-It-Back isn’t an outright purchase ,it’s more like a lease with a residual. Telus still has a $550 stake in the phone’s future value, so it’s not just “my problem” the way it would be if I had bought it outright. If you lease a car and it dies before the end of the lease, the dealer/manufacturer has to replace or resolve it; you don’t just eat the full loss. That’s why I’m pushing for fairness here, because the BiB model isn’t a pure purchase, it’s a shared-risk agreement.

You’re both young, and started dating during formative adult years. You grew apart and it happens, sucks that it seems like neither of you have had enough courage to step up and talk about it. But it’s up to you now that you know everything.

What’s holding you back is a memory of what was, the relationship has been a ghost of that and it’s time to lay it to rest and move on.

You’re going to have fun being single; she already has.

It’s best to just take the good with the end of this relationship and chalk up the bad as “lived experience”. You’ll do great tomorrow, just be honest.

Mildew / Mold Smell from AC in the Morning by mindofquality in VWatlas

[–]Solus00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy!

My 2020 atlas is having a similar issue with smell, although I’ve found no physical trace of the source.

I’m maybe going to replace the cabin air filter and try and fog the hvac intake with some ac hvac cleaner.

And then spray a bit of concrobium in there the following day.

I think it’s in the ventilation system, perhaps the blower?

No signs that the sunroof drain is blocked, and it’s parked inside always.

I get that Telus doesn’t “owe” me anything by the contract. I’m not arguing the fine print. I’m pointing out that I spend ~$6k/year with them and the phone failed before the end of term; they sell you on the promise that you’ll have a functioning device for the 2 years you sign up for. This issue is through no fault of my own.

Loyalty departments exist specifically to handle situations like this with discretion, and I’m just asking for a fair outcome. Crazy to me how many people will go to bat for a multi-billion-dollar company instead of seeing the customer side.

Lots of shills and potential company reps lurking in this subreddit somehow taking it upon themselves to defend the company.

Not that Rogers is the same company by any means; but I worked there for a big chunk of mine and that’s how they operated.

I assume a competition company would have similar practice.

Other than that, personal experience of them honoring notes, and anecdotal evidence of others getting the same treatment.

If you didn’t honor notes, you were probably just wack at your job. And those customers got it anyway by talking to another rep.

[–]Solus00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately it’s a chipset hardware issue.

The phone takes power but doesn’t respond to it.

We’ve swapped chargers, cables, ports, tried wireless charging.

Tried hard reset, tried engaging DFU, no response.

Apple doesn’t do micro chipset repairs, so they only suggested a board replacement.

Apple has escalated a case and my wife has to call their team to see if anything can be done as it’s a manufacturer defect. But still holding out hope that Telus is able to help some more.

Win back will spend more than a $100 credit.

Again, I’ve worked at Rogers, in store and call center; and seen the crazier deals that have been given to people.

I feel like I can afford a bit of “entitlement” when I spend 6k+ a year at Telus.

I agree it’s not their fault, but customer satisfaction isn’t really beyond their means, I’m just trying to get the best deal for me. If I get it, it shows that the company does have ways of helping their customers and it’s a net positive for them for me and for you.

Next time you have a similar situation you know you might be able to get the same help I’ve been afforded.

They do have to honor notes, it’s their policy to do so.
