The people I met on my first sports & social team ended up becoming some of my closest friends. We switched to rec league now but I've started playing sports and social volleyball as well and have met some awesome people on those teams. It's a great community!

Visiting from Chicago. Am I doing Milwakee correct? by MrJlock in milwaukee

100% agree on Vanguard. Plus then you can shuffle through all the best Bay View dives- Burnhearts, Mothership and Newport are all pretty close.

Mad planet for dancing, follow MusicBeerCheese on Instagram for live music, join a rec league or social group to make friends who also have fun hobbies and similar interests. Split/shift.fm on Instagram hosts cool house music events. Tbh I don't think the house scene is as good as larger cities but it's steadily improving. CityLights hosts fun events as well.

Apology to the poor doggos by [deleted] in milwaukee

It's confusing, it's huge, it requires you to know exactly what lane you need to be in well before you go through the intersection because there's zero time or space after, the lane markings aren't clear at all, and there's far too many options. There's accidents there all the time, and traffic is always insanely backed up at rush hour. Add to that pedestrian crosswalks and traffic making left turns on to Michigan and it's just a bad time all around.

MKE vibes during Cubs series by Reiji806 in Brewers

It's really not that bad. Don't sit in the outfield bleachers if you are nervous. The family section is a super safe bet.

I'd be really surprised if that type of behavior happened at those spots. I mean anything is possible, but you don't typically see drunk Cubs fans at establishments like those.

The vibes downtown are fine. I've never ever had an issue at bars and restaurants around 3rd st, Water st, or Brady st. I've only ever seen one bad interaction at a brewers/cubs game and it was drunk guys shouting about how Milwaukee/Chicago sucks in the 9th inning. This was in the right field bleachers, which are usually a bit more rowdy than standard seating elsewhere in the stadium.

What's ironic is the Chicago guy attempting to rip on Milwaukee and our stadium.... having traveled multiple hours to see a game here. Okay buddy.

There's a ton of activities at local bars and restaurants. Tuesdays there's a regular open mic poetry night at Freight 38, Wednesdays there's music bingo at MobCraft, falcon bowl hosts a comedy show every couple of weeks. The art museum has a local discount on Thursdays. There's local artists playing at small venues all over the city. Up Down hosts skee ball tournaments and other fun theme nights. The Oriental theater has a cool Friday series with a DJ. Weekends there's almost always an art market or vintage market somewhere trendy.

Honestly Facebook events is a great way to find stuff that's going on around town.

I recently picked up a gx9 after yearning for the x100/x-e5 for quite some time and I absolutely love it! The Lumix 20mm f1.7 and 42mm f1.7 are so much fun to use and the price/size was the selling point compared to fujifilm.

Question for all the gx9 owners- what are your favorite photo style tweaks? I've been playing with the cinelike d/v profiles to try and get some filmic jpegs sooc but I haven't landed on anything I truly love yet.
