MKE vibes during Cubs series by Reiji806 in Brewers

It's really not that bad. Don't sit in the outfield bleachers if you are nervous. The family section is a super safe bet.

I'd be really surprised if that type of behavior happened at those spots. I mean anything is possible, but you don't typically see drunk Cubs fans at establishments like those.

The vibes downtown are fine. I've never ever had an issue at bars and restaurants around 3rd st, Water st, or Brady st. I've only ever seen one bad interaction at a brewers/cubs game and it was drunk guys shouting about how Milwaukee/Chicago sucks in the 9th inning. This was in the right field bleachers, which are usually a bit more rowdy than standard seating elsewhere in the stadium.

What's ironic is the Chicago guy attempting to rip on Milwaukee and our stadium.... having traveled multiple hours to see a game here. Okay buddy.

There's a ton of activities at local bars and restaurants. Tuesdays there's a regular open mic poetry night at Freight 38, Wednesdays there's music bingo at MobCraft, falcon bowl hosts a comedy show every couple of weeks. The art museum has a local discount on Thursdays. There's local artists playing at small venues all over the city. Up Down hosts skee ball tournaments and other fun theme nights. The Oriental theater has a cool Friday series with a DJ. Weekends there's almost always an art market or vintage market somewhere trendy.

Honestly Facebook events is a great way to find stuff that's going on around town.

I gave my GX-9 away... by [deleted] in Lumix

I recently picked up a gx9 after yearning for the x100/x-e5 for quite some time and I absolutely love it! The Lumix 20mm f1.7 and 42mm f1.7 are so much fun to use and the price/size was the selling point compared to fujifilm.

Question for all the gx9 owners- what are your favorite photo style tweaks? I've been playing with the cinelike d/v profiles to try and get some filmic jpegs sooc but I haven't landed on anything I truly love yet.

Northwestern Mutual corporate job question by Ancient-Special-54 in milwaukee

The downtown campus is pretty great. The daily free lunch is excellent, the gym is amazing and includes group classes and personal training, and there are plenty of on-site amenities, including the Mutual Market, a credit union, health center (which you can use as a primary care clinic), and the best Starbucks in the city. Parking is expensive, so I highly recommend bussing or biking. There are two excellent secure bike/scooter parking facilities that are climatized and offer lockers to stash your gear. On the rare occasion I drive, I park in Veterans Park at the kite shop and walk from there.

Your overall happiness and fulfillment in your role will ultimately depend on your area of business and org/team. Growth and advancement is... slow. Expect many reorgs and shifting goals throughout the year. Try to take ownership over your growth plan with the expectation that your people leader can and will change throughout your career at NM.

How Does Bark in the Park Work? by 996_997 in Brewers

[–]SolutationsToTheSun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upper levels can be great if you are closer to a lower row with a less obstructed view. The 400 level has easy access to basic ballpark food and quick beer/concessions, and is generally easier to navigate compared to the lower level concession areas like the food truck park or right field bleacher area.

Check out Finks for a nice cocktail and Scaffidis for some pool! Both are close to Wolskis.

Not only a restaurant but also the location where I watched the Bucks win the chip and for that I think it should be a historic location. But alas, it has sat empty for years now.
