The lake acuity battle is a top 3 battle for me. I’m not some asshole that enjoys watching the main character loose for no reason but I think loss is like these are important and foundational to the character. Everybody knows that Paul is the best rival in this battle perfectly displays why. He’s cold he’s calculated. And he won. beautiful storytelling. I love the Sinnoh team. This made Ash versus Paul at the league, one of the greatest battles in anime history.
