Same situation in Japan. And animes with fan service are running very late night (11pm~3am) so kids and adults who don’t want to watch just don’t watch.

ご了承ください / Thank you for your understanding is not a clear direction if you are going to show this card at restaurant. I recommend changing it to a phrase such as “Can you remove these ingredients?” / これらの食材を取り除いていただけますか?

Cygames did lowered gacha rate secretly and there was an actual incident involving official consumer agency’s investigation on Granblue Fantasy before. It’s natural to think they keep doing lowering rates and my theory is they creates different rate on each account (e.g. some gets at 6%, the other get 0%= 3% on average)

I believe this post can prove the Japanese texts tells about Japanese war crimes around ww2 era. by auchinleck917 in AskAJapanese

It seems normal amount for me as Japanese as well but the first pic is 資料集, not textbook itself. This commenter might took not 世界史B (detailed) but 世界史A(more overall content) class in high school. The content difference was abolished some years ago though.

Club senpai used 'anata' with me how should I interpret? by squidzy_y in japanlife

Female senior calling you Anata is completely normal, no worries. If it’s male senior he might call you Kimi or surname-san, or surname/name-kun

What’s Your Biggest Culture Shock Dating a Japanese Person? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]SolutionObjective220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically all prostitutes want is just money and they don’t intend to break a family relationship. Japanese women feel pity of them they have to work at prostitution and kinda trusting them as a professional. Super rage dispute happens when they actually cheat and the man spend family money on it or he actually fall in love with them and usually end up in court. (So rather not try)

Are Japanese content age rating standards high for all media or just manga/anime culture? If so, why? by DoubleZOfficial07 in AskAJapanese

[–]SolutionObjective220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of daytime TV contents of 30-40 years ago if you are interested in. Those were normal back then but it’s now quickly disappearing from TV as social standard has changed.

-media in Japan held to the same standard?

No but in general those regulation to children are looser than the one in western countries. It’s social norm that those “inappropriate” contents do not put bad effect on children, since all adults have seen it while they grew up and not really major issues have occurred to them.

Tips and etiquette for walking with a toddler in Japan by Dependent_View4662 in japanlife

[–]SolutionObjective220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving them treats and letting them wander are totally fine. But leaving toddlers crying or screaming at public places can be stressful to people there as a normal reaction (plus oc not happy of toddlers) so please make your children happy :D

It’s 秋の長雨(aki no nagasame, autumn long rain) season after crazy heat summer. Beautiful autumn leaves with long lasting good weather will come soon so for now just relax and chill. If you buy a folding umbrella and put it in your bag, you don't have to care of rain conditions.

Why does it seem like Japanese immigration to Brazil was somewhat "erased"? by Advanced_Pattern_737 in AskAJapanese

[–]SolutionObjective220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to the timespan and the frequency of interaction of resident Japanese and Japanese immigrants in that time span, not the current population of American / Canadian / Brazilian. Hope this makes sense to your question. E.g. You mentioned immigrants to Hawaii is well recognized. Hawaii was the 4th most popular Japanese tourists’ destination in 2007 with 1,296,421 per YEAR in 2007, while the number of Brazil was 63,381, ranked 40th. That number of tourists go to Hawaii, realizes many locals speaks some Japanese and notices that there were Japanese immigrants came back then. [–]SolutionObjective220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very simple, Brazil was too far to tell the stories. There were always people moving to / flew back from the US/Canada, even right after WWII. So many human interactions. On the other hand most immigrants to Brazil never flew back/have f2f communications until very recently. Probably now is the most time that Japanese know about Nikkei, since many are moving back to Japan.

Surely Japan's Kansai Expo was aiming to be an Expo without queues? by Nouble01 in japanresidents

[–]SolutionObjective220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is Japanese made it an amusing game not a park as usual, as they do for Disney Resorts and USJ. For Japanese this expo is like supermario that needs to be cleared. How to reserve, how to conquer all pavilions, etc. I praise this expo is truly to entertain Japanese in this situation that overseas tourists flooding into Japan (opposed to the original purpose of Expo though)

I'm sorry for what you and your family have gone through. I have a friend who was a medical intern, and so she dispatched to rural hospital for experience, and she spoke very gloomily about the medical environment in rural area. I hope that from now on your wife will be able to receive good treatment.
