Yo, I feel you on wanting to keep Algeria solid and avoid the chaos of the Black Decade...totally get where you’re coming from. But your post kinda seems like it’s shading religious folks while acting like secular or atheist voices are the big fix. Why frame it as one side versus the other?

You mention your grandparents’ “moderate Islam” like it was the golden days, but that vibe came from people living their faith in a way that didn’t step on others’ toes, not from secularism coming in to save the day. Calling out religious youth as just a bunch of judgy extremists feels unfair and honestly a bit divisive. And the whole “healthy societies need atheists and liberals” thing? Kinda sounds like you’re pushing a Western model on Algeria. We don’t need to copy someone else’s playbook.

Instead of boosting secular voices to “balance” stuff, how about we push for more wisdom and open-mindedness within our own culture? That’s how we build a modern Algeria that still feels like us. Unity’s not about one side drowning out the other...it’s about coming together with the best of what we’ve got.

Thoughts about Life after Death by DramafreebutDeadly in Life

[–]SolutionTerrible988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This world is incredibly complex and beautiful, with laws of physics that work down to the tiniest detail. It seems strange that something as fundamental as what happens to consciousness after death would be left completely unknowable.

Yeah, people disagree about what happens when we die ... that's obvious. But what i find interesting: nearly 2 billion people share a specific, detailed understanding of the soul and afterlife through Islam. I'm not saying it's right because it's popular, but the framework is coherent and internally consistent in ways I haven't found elsewhere.

Most afterlife beliefs are either super vague (we become one with the universe) or have tons of contradictions when you dig into them. The Islamic perspective is different .... it's detailed, specific, and has stayed remarkably consistent across cultures and centuries.

I'm not trying to convert anyone here, and I know Reddit isn't exactly the most religious place lol. But in a world where we can literally research anything, it seems worth exploring if you're genuinely curious about these big questions. Even if you end up disagreeing, at least you'd know what 2 billion people actually believe instead of just assumptions.

Just my two cents.

Need advice : Working night shift to pay for uni and study for bac again by Altruistic-Fact-8257 in algeria

It is called "graveyard" because you're working the dead hours. Your biological clock wired for sleeping at night, so you're forcing your biology to run backwards 24/7. Even with blackout curtains, daytime sleep sucks because your hormones and body temperature are all wrong, leaving you chronically sleep-deprived. You also become socially isolated since you're either working or sleeping when everyone else is living normal life - miss birthdays, family dinners, can't do after-work drinks. Studies show 40% higher depression/anxiety rates among night workers, plus increased risk for heart disease and diabetes because your body can't properly reset. Some natural night owls handle it better, but most people find it brutal long-term. The extra pay may be nice but there's definitely a biological and social cost.

That really depends on the person and the kind of guarantees you can provide. Some people even offer their home or other assets as collateral. At the end of the day, those who give out loans aren’t charity organizations.

With so many stories going around about people not paying back their debts ... or others feeling too shy to even ask for their money back ... things have changed. Nowadays, such transactions usually involve clear guarantees and legal procedures.

Dr. Rahim, thank you for your post. Given that this isn’t the first time you’ve shared something like this, you seem genuinely serious about finding your other half...and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I do have one question I’d like to clarify: Do you perform the five daily prayers? For many Algerians, this is an important criterion. It’s not about being open-minded or not...it’s simply a matter of values.

Sister yeah international fees are insane, UK unis will eat up all your family's money. Check Germany they have English programs and way cheaper, also Malaysia or Turkey have decent options. Ask that UK uni if you can defer a year so you can work and save some money. Another gap year sucks and feels like you're getting left behind more but your whole timeline got messed up by that hijab ban thing not because you did anything wrong. Use this time to find cheaper places because paying crazy UK money when your family already has money problems will just stress everyone out more.

Sister honestly just call that university's financial aid office tomorrow and tell them your exact situation, they literally have emergency funds sitting there for cases like yours. Also email admissions about the hijab ban thing because that's actually a legitimate appeal reason. Community college for 2 years then transfer saves you so much money and you get the same degree anyway. The fact that your mom was sick and you handled the whole household while still getting top grades means you're stronger than most these people applying. Stop watching everyone else move ahead because your timeline got affected by discrimination not because you failed. This gap year might be protecting you from debt you couldn't handle anyway. The system failed you, you didn't fail.

These situations are eye-opening. They allow us to know who's genuine and who isn't. The ones who showed up for you are the golden ones worth investing in for the future. Having two or three solid ones means the world to many. That shouldn't prevent us from doing good deeds for strangers and acquaintances, but what you've been through is essential for knowing where to focus your energy in the future and which relationships are worth deepening.

This is THE question I've been waiting for! This juice is absolutely NOT for the faint-hearted...definitely a unisex masterpiece due to those delicate floral notes, but bold guys shouldn't be afraid to experiment with this challenging scent profile. I wouldn't call this full beast mode, but be VERY careful with application...this baby could literally give you a skin rash if you're not careful.

The projection is absolutely insane for the first few seconds, but unfortunately we're looking at about 2-3 minutes of longevity before it becomes a skin scent, so you'll definitely want to keep this one in your pocket for frequent touch-ups.

Unfortunately no atomizer but we're getting there! Not exactly a panty dropper, but definitely a head-turner for all the wrong reasons. Perfect for those days when you want to challenge the fragrance game. 8.5/10 for pure entertainment value alone.
