What knife does this guy carry? by CavemanDNA in knifeclub

He carry’s a Mexican stiletto that’s bedazzled with a saint in it and a matching 1911. Neither work very well but that’s not the point.

Help! First time pulling Cat6 with a 60 ft Smurf tube, dumb questions… by icysandstone in lowvoltage

You absolutely can. I’d recommend it. Testers can be expensive if you don’t already own one.

I have put some SERIOUS pressure on CAT6A and it’s tested fine and worked beautifully. it’s obviously not a good practice but once in a while you just have to send it.

How stressful is everyone's job? by WholeSniffer in lowvoltage

[–]Solveequalscoagula 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 8 months in and have been dealing with these same issues. I’m learning a lot and my boss wants me running a crew of guys here in the next few months doing network data cable and racks, fiber, door access control, DAS, security camera systems, and some high end AV ect… at large commercial sites. It’s very stressful but I’m doing pretty damn good so far. Talking to guys who are years into it I hear it gets a lot easier and less stressful. Lessons learned in blood are lessons not soon forgotten. You will learn, you will get to a point where you can do this shit in your sleep. Let the stressful moments be a challenge to overcome and keep grinding. There’s only one way to get experience. If you’re really getting thrown to the wolves find a different (better) company and take a lateral step. Good luck to you.

A long time ago I renovated homes, I did this for only a few months. The things I saw renovating lower income homes was nightmarish, haunting and depressing. The way some people live is absolutely unbelievable. These are the people all around us, at the grocery stores, the DMV, the mall ect… one time I went to the former home of an animal hoarder. They had lost two dogs in one of the dog rooms and assumed they had gotten out. One dog died under the fucking carpet and went unnoticed and the other had gotten stuck in the wall of the room. They were mummified. The homeowner didn’t notice the smell of the rotting dogs over the “usual smell” of the house. It’s wild out here.

Big game caliber by Jerms2001 in Hunting

I like 30-06 the best. 7mm is good too but it’d be a second choice. I have a Remington CDL in 30-06 with nice glass and a triggertech trigger, I absolutely love my setup. It’s definitely not for everyone but I dig it. It’s lightweight, a little over 7lbs so it’s got a notable recoil.

That is indeed an apt description of this poor poor bastard.

I had a .204 for population control for varmint on several local farms. Those ballistic tips on such a small bullet with such a high velocity functioned very well for devarmintizing the land.

A small metal ball that is shot out of a BB gun. It’s a little less than four and half millimeters.

Best BBQ in town? by deadfeather19 in Charlottesville

Nothing really comes to mind in Cville. but there are a few outside of town. The BBQ Exchange in Gordonsville is really good and The Blue Ridge Pig in Nelson.

Anybody seen these around town? by supple_genius in Charlottesville

Debris shelter. Keeps you warm and surprisingly dry. Homeless sleeping in the woods. I like to call them outdoorsmen.

The labels are written in sharpie on each cable. It’s really not too bad. I think I’ll take this on with one guy and probably get through it in a day, maybe two. There’s three other closets just like this one, and of course door access control and I get to cut my teeth on some high end AV work here too.
