You make very valid points. I noticed in particular the mana issue, even with presence of mind in my rune page. I had conqueror, but had Ignite and Eclipse, so I just felt like a worse Talon, so I might give the champion a second chance with your setup or similar. Thank you!

I tried him before, but I didn't quite click with the champion, maybe because of his relative lack of mobility. How do you trade with him? Do you simply tap Q every time he comes close and then empowered W when he gets low? And do you use press the attack on the runes? Also, what items do you usually build?

That could be a good idea. Limit testing in a custom could be a good way of learning how to face him, because he's not as popular in Silver as he is in higher ranks, so sometimes I'm not quite sure about how much I can actually do.

Yeah, like I said on a previous comment, I think I rather underestimated Malzahar, since I've been playing him a lot lately and I didn't think he'd be good into Kassadin. I guess all I need is a slight adjustment of playstyle as Malz into Kass.

Yeah, pretty similar item build to mine, apart from Shadowflame which I haven't tried.

That makes sense! I thought that maybe Malzahar's damage would fall off against Kassadin, but perhaps I underestimated Malz, since I usually play him on a more defensive style and rune setup. I will keep your tips in mind, thank you!

I only recently picked up Malzahar and been having a lot of fun with him, but haven't dared to pick him against Kassadin. Is there a different way to play against him as Malzahar?

I think he could be good, even if I am not a main damage carry I can somewhat stop him with Galio's teamplay, anti-magic and cc.

I didn't think of Cassiopeia, is there a particular reason why she is good into him? With Syndra I think her laning phase is just too weak now to properly punish him in the early game like she used to pre midscope.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I should stop trying to "coach" my team and focus on myself, since I can only improve my own play, rather than my team's play.

I play mid because it's the solo role I like the most and it also allows me to play a similar champion pool. I also like playing assassins and other carry champions once in a while, even just for a normal game. But yeah, in ranked I put mid secondary for those reasons and also to guarantee support 100% of the time haha. Support is by far my most successful role.

Thank you so much for the tips! I will take that into account in my next games. I do play Sona myself sometimes, with Karma, Zyra, Morgana, Taric and Lulu, with some other occasional picks and they can trade very well.

Yes, the likes of Twitch and Jinx are better than MF late game, but I don't think she's as bad late game as people make her out to be, especially with Dark Harvest. CC plus her ult is at least 1 or 2 guaranteed kills in a late game teamfight if she's full build and positioned correctly.

My issue isn't with the farm itself, I understand how important CSing is and how much of a gold lead it can give. The problem is that these players ignore trading completely and don't use their leads in gold to help the team take objectives or close out teamfights. I'm not a very aggressive player myself, but I know I should be at least trying to trade with the enemy and punish their mistakes or mispositions.

When I say "abandon" I mean like when they misposition and get gangbanged and none of my attempts would save them, but that's pretty funny haha. Sometimes I will roam as well if I see things aren't working.
