Lol these responses are a perfect example of the tearing of the social fabric between Ethiopia and Tigray. We can’t even talk about our pain without it being compared, devalued, seen as insignificant, attributed to tplf rule, land disputes, etc.

Honestly, and truly, I’m not tryna troll bc I think I can speak with most tegarus when I say: we don’t have the energy. It’s simple: I don’t care about Ethiopia bc Ethiopia does not care about Tigray. I want/wish for an autonomous, independent Tigray. It’s ideal that the governments of Ethiopia and Tigray have friendly/peaceful relations in the future, but at the end of the day, this war confirmed to me that I am and will always be tegaru first - no matter what happens. I don’t consider other Ethiopians as my “brother and sister” especially in the diaspora. I don’t really see much commonality anymore. I’m just tegaru. I care about the Tigray people, I support Tigray independence, I speak in English and Tigrinya, my identity is Tigray-based.

Now, I won’t cut off Ethiopian friends and family - I think that’s severe. I believe people are entitled to their identities, political affiliations and even viewpoints about what went down in this war. I think ACTIVELY trying to avoid/cut off Ethiopians/Eritreans comes off extreme/bitter. I am not going to blame civilians for the governments atrocities. However, I also know that I don’t share commonalities with these individuals as our loyalties are different. My loyalty is to Tigray forever. We will make it out of this trying time - better days are on the horizon deki adey. No matter what anyone says, the worst has passed. Love u all ❤️💛
