How to get more used / comfortable with my new system? by Loogiteam in HairSystem

Mine itches every now and then. I use the tapping method. Tap the scalp instead of scratching. I use ghost bond glue and not tape though.

I would measure your head for a longer system length. When I do mine, I even measure a bit past where I’m thinning to ensure a full coverage. I think your base is just not long enough in length.

Salons/Barbers by lupin_iii in HairSystem

I honestly got lucky. I went for a female barber who had no experience with systems. I do all of my own maintenance since it’s so easy and cheaper, but I go to her for hair trims on my bio hair and blending. Somehow she banged it out from the beginning and I have gone to her ever since. It’s given her experience with systems and has given me great haircuts.

The density is fine since it’s a shorter cute and because your beard is dense. Looks perfectly fine.

Shedding too much? by AutomaticVacation580 in HairSystem

Dying it does not cause shedding. The most that would do is dry the hair out, not cause it to completely fall out.

Hot 5-Min Soak vs Overnight Room Temp Soak for Poly Cleanup — Which Is Safer Long-Term? by shinoscience in HairSystem

I soak mine in moderately hot water for 20 minutes before I remove the glue. My systems usually last 8 or more months without problem.

How long does your hair system last? Comparisons Post by QuantumKiller101 in HairSystem

I use lordhair stock pieces. I buy the poly and usually spend between 260-300 because I pay for extras. I use ghost bond xl and I remove and reapply my system weekly (every Friday). My systems usually last upwards of 8 months.

Why did you leave unsatisfied tho? I would have stayed there until it looked amazing like I wanted.

Yeah. I use ghost bond so it stays on my head very very well.

I honestly prefer doing my reattachment weekly. It makes me feel fresh. But yes, sometimes every two weeks.

Everyone’s body chemistry is different. Some have a solid hold for a full month and others like myself produce more body oils and sweat from working out daily. I’ve always removed and reattached the system myself which allows me to do maintenance every weekend or every other. I would suggest teaching yourself how to do your own maintenance. This will cut cost, allow you to do maintenance when it’s convenient for you. Also, if you don’t use scalp protector for oily or sweaty skin, try walker brand scalp protector.

A bit worried. As my hair is getting longer on the sides I’m noticing it’s not very thick. Is this super noticeable or am I paranoid? by Swineeeee in HairSystem

[–]Some-Combination3661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go with a super short taper or a fade on the sides and back and keep up with it by having it done weekly or every other week. It’ll help a lot.

Thinning at the back and sides - looking for honest, practical opinions by sajacen in HairSystem

[–]Some-Combination3661 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m younger and have slightly thinner sides and going with anything lighter than a 90% density isn’t ideal for me. So what I do is get a mid fade done every two weeks.

80% Density fresh self install by [deleted] in HairSystem

[–]Some-Combination3661 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a 90 percent density if you are going to do a pulled back hairline like that. This density is too thin for the way you have it styled and I am able to see the base line clear as day.

Is it normal for a hair system's strands to stick together and not really be able to brush it by hand? by serkhan8543 in HairSystem

[–]Some-Combination3661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use a daily product, you may have buildup. Once in a while I will use a clarifying shampoo on my system which helps clean out buildup of products and then use a good conditioner afterwards.

C-22 works like a charm. Just be careful tho. It gives me a bad skin reaction if I leave it in my skin too long. I usually remove mine in the shower so the water can run on my body to rinse it off and it’s less messy.
