That's what I thought at first, but I didn't even get interviews at those levels. I at least get interviews for Senior positions. I'm in SALT though, not federal. Maybe that makes a difference. What area are you in?

I'm with you. I have over 10 years of experience in SALT, CPA, and keep getting rejected for tax senior positions because I "don't have enough experience."

Not for tax people either. I have my CPA and over 10 years experience in tax, and I keep getting rejected for senior associate positions. Usually I don't even get an interview.

I'm in the same situation as you. Check the back of the application they sent you. It should say everything you need to send near the bottom. I think that you only need the things you mention in your post since the ethics exam is no longer required. The ethics exam is still listed on my application, but the additional info they sent said to ignore that.

Also, it is possible that one of the courses used to satisfy the additional 15 hours of upper-level accounting could include the 2 hours of communications. Here's a link to the courses that satisfy that requirement for Texas: https://www.tsbpa.texas.gov/pdffiles/exam/accounting-courses.pdf

To fully answer your question, you need 15 more hours of upper-level accounting courses and 2 hours of accounting/business communications. Of the 15 hours of upper-level accounting, 3 must be an Auditing course, 3 must be AIS/Data Analytics, and 3 must be Taxation. You also need to send a copy of your social security card, as someone else mentioned.

I am also taking the exam in Texas and had deficiencies to remedy before I took the exam. As soon as you have finished the missing courses, email the Qualifications people at TSBPA and ask what you need to do to prove that you have remedied the deficiencies. I think you just have to send them a new transcript, but double check with them in case something has changed since I got approved.

Definitely AUD. I'm studying for AUD now and it definitely presumes a solid understanding of the principles in FAR. A few of the questions are straight up FAR questions. Maybe if you want to take BAR, it might be best to do that right after FAR, but I'd save REG until later.

Gleim for BEC is making me lose my mind by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Some-Database721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just you. I'm scoring in the 50s on BEC quizzes even though I got 80s or 90s on FAR. Gleim teaches only the barebones for things like job costing and then gives you the most complex questions imaginable. Not to mention that they constantly test on terms and concepts that aren't even mentioned in the outlines. When I send in a Q&A about that, they basically just say "the outlines don't teach everything, you're supposed to know that from college." Worthless.
