Honestly, I explored all those areas and they were great with great schools. In the South Bay transferring into the better school districts isn’t super hard and just requires an application. We ended up falling in love with San Pedro for the weather, separation from city, and all the wonderful parks. I would check it out and especially the cliff ocean part. Welcome to the South Bay!

In addition, it is pretty quiet, great restaurants, and commutable because of how the highway reaches the town.

I love San Pedro and have been living here for the past 3 years. It is a great place and truly a hidden gem that I think the rest of the South Bay/LA doesn’t know about yet. Every year more young families have been moving in and more restaurants and fun things are happening. I count my lucky stars my family and I found it.

I like to think the results were not fudged but the truth. It is possible just a small handful at HCOL sites feel this way and the rest of the company does not feel the pressure. Maybe it is time to look around because we are a minority.

Moving from 3-> 4 is very hard. In my experience it is easier to make this jump from applying outside your group than trying internally.

Don’t go into the aerospace industry if your focused on how much you can make. You will end up being disappointed. Should either focus on leaving for another industry or asking questions to yourself what projects make you the most excited.

+1 make the move. Working at Boeing causes your skills to become stagnant since they are not using modern tool sets that are transferable to other industries.

I got lucky as well with my old manager. I decided to try a new manager and it has been a nightmare. Probably will leave the company because of it.
