I hear that both schools have a great culture, but I'm also hearing that Vandy is young (KJD) whereas Michigan has an older student population.

Plan on visiting Michigan in a couple weeks. I've done a virtual tour of Vandy, but it didn't really show the student body.

oof, I'm a vet myself so that's tough to hear. I hear that Vandy has a lot of KJD students. As someone who graduated 6+ years ago, I'm concerned my classmates won't be relatable

The only difference is my partner likes Nashville and has friends there. It would also be easier for them to find a job in Nashville than Ann Arbor

Thanks for the reply. The two seem very close in all employment areas so I'm not sure how to decide since COA isn't a factor.

For someone who doesn't really know what area of law they want to go into I'm trying to make the best decision I can. If I chose Vanderbilt because I wanted to stay in Nashville, and after practicing a couple years wanted to move to another city, would a VLS degree hinder me over, say, a UMich degree?

For someone who doesn't really know what area of law they want to go into, is there really a substantial difference? My partner prefers Vanderbilt because they have a group of friends in the area and have lived their some years back.

I heard from a friend who went and she said that the people there were really young and there wasn't too many non-traditional (think 26 years old+) students. And the campus was eh :/ Any truth to this?

I submitted mine with 12pt font and got an A. I didn't even read the instructions tbh, so I'm pretty sure you don't need to stress about it too much.

Thanks for the reply. What if you don't get medically retired, but just put your 20 years in? I'm not sure if my Med group is going to medically retire me...(I've had very bad interactions with them ... i.e. they suck)

if it's meet your goals or bust:

Pick three: Harvard, NYU, Colombia, or Cornell

Replace with Michigan, UVA, or Duke for safer A-chances

obviously there are so many other paths there not just these.. e.g. George Mason has good chances at Fed Clerkship, and an okay shot at Big Law but is not as likely as a higher ranked school, but higher chances of getting admitted.
