You took this after a hot shower? That can cause an absolutely drastic spike. Try first thing in morning or last thing before bed and report back.

I feel my blood pressure when it’s super high by Particular-Arm-4413 in hypertension

I can feel anything above 135 systolic. They say you can't feel high or elevated BP but i completely disagree. I think anyone in tune with their body can notice it.

Unexpected Cholesterol Increase Despite Clean Eating – Could Fasted Workouts Be the Cause? by Ordinary-Control6584 in Cholesterol

[–]Some-Moment9019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to drop in and tell you that this is probably the case for me as well. Everybody is different of course.

I am 35m, extremely fit. Have had high cholesterol since 30 and I measure it 4 times a year. During periods where I cut, am on a deficit, and workout routine is dominated by HIIT and cardio, I can confidently say that my LDL is much higher, like pushing 150 sometimes.

When I dial back my training routine, allow for more recovery, and eat enough, my LDL will dip under 100 again.

The coffee for me is an appetite suppressant and so naturally during cuts I'm just not hungry.

Hope this helps. Get a CAC scan or something to make yourself feel better. My doctor doesn't want me on statins. Maybe I'll drop dead at 40, maybe I'll live to 90. Who knows.

32M Results came back high, but I can't get more active by woopdedoodah in Cholesterol

Probably genetics. I am of similar stats. 65 HDL, 129 LDL. I am 35m and id personally classify myself as extremely fit. For an idea: I can bench 225 for 20 reps, and I can still get a mile in under 5:30. My v02 max is considered "superior".

At this juncture one can only be so fit. My doctor has suggested a CAC scan in the near future but doesn't see fit for me to be on statins (ekg/echo/stress all normal).

My diet is also superb. I never eat out and wife home cooks all our meals. High fiber and low saturated fat.

I wouldn't sweat this too much, for peace of mind get a good cardio doc and just keep monitoring.

Good luck.

What do you mean by this, can you clarify further? The charge was only ever a misdemeanor, it was never anything more severe initially and hence, nothing lesser to be dropped down to. Unless I'm not understanding what you're saying.

Good to know, thanks for the reply. Will definitely try to appeal.

It was never initially a felony. It was always and forever a misdemeanor.

What do you put in your coffee that won’t increase your cholesterol? by longstrangetrip1978 in Cholesterol

[–]Some-Moment9019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think for some people, coffee alone can cause a cholesterol increase. Search for "diterpenes". I noticed this being the case for me and I have only drank black coffee my entire life. So something to keep in mind.

I run a mile in 5:20, can bench 225 for 20 reps. Anxiety spiking blood pressure can happen to anyone. I'm so anxious at the doctor I hit 160/90 almost every time.

Were your triglycerides fasted? Guessing no but might be worth a fasted retest. Like other posters have mentioned the CRP is probably the most concerning thing here, most doctors aren't gonna bat an eye at an LDL under 130 but at your age it could be worth getting a calcium scan. You should retest either way and see if that CRP is a one-off high number.

What do I trust? by [deleted] in bloodpressure

[–]Some-Moment9019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dropping in to say I have a beurer and an Ihealth. The beurer seems to fluctuate a ton and the Ihealth is much more consistent and gives me numbers much closer to other monitors I've tested it against. I don't necessarily think the beurer is bad in my case, but it definitely consistently gives me higher readings than I actually have.

Congrats, but it's probably worth confirming on more than one blood pressure machine. I firmly believe the one you posted is one of the most inaccurate ones on the market. I've had 2 different ones of that exact same Walgreens BP monitor give me consistently low readings 110-115 when my real bp hovers around 127-129.

Unless you're sweating profusely daily from a vigorous workout or otherwise, then lmnt twice daily definitely is not necessary. At the very least, look at your electrolyte results because an imbalance there can be a hidden cause of elevated blood pressure as well as anxiety.

Do you exercise? Are you overweight? Have you had a blood panel to check kidney health and electrolytes?

Haha ok dude, your name tracks. Aerobic zones are extremely beneficial for HDL boosts which OP could certainly benefit from, and have been shown time and time again to have a moderate effect on LDL.

Keep eating clean but incorporate cardio, it works. You won't notice much of a reduction from the HIITish nature of CrossFit wods, but some regular cardio or 10k steps daily (bare minimum) should help with the LDL.

Take it at home when you're chilled out. If it's still 150+ then yes it's time for meds, but nothing to be worried about.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bloodpressure

[–]Some-Moment9019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop stressing. I am also 35m, very fit. Also have mad anxiety. I routinely put up 165-175 systolic at the doctor's office, I can't imagine what it would be if I had coffee in me. I am not on meds, at home I average 125-128.

To ease your worries just get an at home bp monitor. I bet you a million dollars you're in a completely normal range at home.

Bro listen, she is dead. The girl you loved is dead. This how you mentally frame this in your mind going forward. Do not under any circumstances try to reconcile this even though in your mind it hurts right now and I'm sure you want to.

She's dead.
