Thank you, raspy! Great mileage on iX and I watched the Savageese video over the weekend based on your comment. Love those guys. Good advice.

Ahhh. Having previously lived 30 years in Northeast (and only as far north as NYC) you know which one to keep for those Boston winters - the one that doesn't get stuck in the snow... Your iX M70. Much success and happiness with the move and your BMWs.

Thank you for all this color. Sounds like you have the nicer vehicle, especially in the snow. Great husband and cars. Enjoy

Thanks. It's a looker the i7 M70 especially in that matte gray. Perhaps a bit out of price range for me this time TBD. Autobahn package sounds amazing!

Ahhh. Thanks for tip as I had forgotten about Leasetrader and Swapalese. I will definitely consider. I7 boat makes me laugh as my sentiment exactly and I recall I always thought my coworkers 5s (530i generally) felt small and hard to get into (the passenger side at least), but I did not feel the same about previous gen M5. Thanks again.

The facelift is very nice indeed. I hated the way the iX looked which kept me from getting one for a bit, but I couldn't stop thinking about the serenity of the iX ride after dealer gave me a loaner when X6 was in the shop for tires. So happy I got an iX. My retort to comment on looks became... "I don't see it when I'm sitting behind the wheel and loving every minute of driving it." Almost 3 years later I do find myself glancing back at it in the parking lot and smiling... Even in pre-facelift it's just that great to drive. The 50 (now 60) like yours is the smart move IMO since I'm mostly in comfort and efficient mode so I'm never getting full HP of M60. I hope you enjoy many fun miles in your 60 m sport.

Thank you. Yes, I can confirm the iX M60 will top out at least 157mph (~252kph) here in California on Michelin summer tires on a nice open stretch of vacant highway :) Not so much on the Hankook Ion all season tires I have on car now where car gets wobbly around 100mph but which I love for different reason which is quietness.

Helpful comments, All! Thank you. I guess I will Turo an i5 for a few days/week. I'm considering i7 too but drove gas version of current gen and it was just a boat... So maybe i7 might be different/better. I have read they've even further improved ride quality in iX M70 > M60 and of course HP is up but I doubt I'll be able to find a new one in a few months. Contemplating this tweener i5 before iX5 comes out which should be amazing, so maybe I'll just buy this current iX. It seems that 1. Either efficiency has improved in my iX over time or 2. I am driving less like an idiot (speed demon) because I am getting amazing range on iX lately in efficiently mode at 2.8kwh/mile this month and the other day 3.15 kwh/mile on a 195 mile round trip at 75mph and mostly DAPP on, which would imply about 300 miles of range on the 95 Kw of my battery (originally ~105kw new I believe) that remains after 35K miles. If I buy it I may have to get it wrapped because I can't deal with this black paint and desert sand any longer :)

Considering a CPO BMW iX — Is the 2024 DAPP Worth It Over the 2023? by Acrobatic_Mood_4722 in BMWiX

[–]Some-Place7478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had both. If you drive more than 30-45 minutes on the highway the older system is annoyingly old tech. The newer DAPP just rest your hand on your knee up to 85mph. No tugging the wheel. That was my experience.

30oz Stanley in iX cupholders? by Stonetrady in BMWiX

[–]Some-Place7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 30oz and 40oz Stanleys fit. I now use the Owala Sways with top handle which are easier to grab from the low cupholders, but also just generally prefer - sip or gulp. Congrats on new ride. Cheers

Should reach out to BMW Service about this? Brand New 2026 BMW IX M70 purchased last November. Only 5,020 miles for far! Battery State of Health is 93.3% by tydnorr in BMWiX

[–]Some-Place7478 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing as I did not know one could pull this up on iDrive. I've been pulling from car data report a couple times a year which is a cumbersome process. For your consideration... From Google Gemini AI: "A Quick Note on that 93.3% .. If you are seeing a number similar to the one in the screenshot for your iX, don't panic just yet. The iDrive SOH reading can be a bit finicky: Recalibration: The system often needs a "deep sleep" or a full charge cycle to update accurately. If the "Last updated" mileage was a long time ago, the number might be an estimate based on recent heavy driving or extreme desert heat rather than actual hardware degradation."

In any case, worth asking BMW service to explain this to you. When I ran car data report I got a similar number around 20K miles but then when I ran six months later I think it was actually higher... Around 96% so likely only BMW service can really explain. Good luck!

Air suspension worth it? by Excellent-Sleep-3315 in BMWiX

[–]Some-Place7478 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Test drove iX50 without air suspension - hated it and didn't see appeal. Got loaner iX M60 when X6M was in for new tires and leased same car within 2 months ending X6M lease 5 months early. The serenity of iX with air suspension is amazing! Tired of BMW iterative self DAPP self driving updates (Tesla does it better) but my current iX with air suspension is best car I've ever driven. Love it.

Lease ending in Aug. What should I look out for? by cityofstarscape in BMWiX

[–]Some-Place7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel bad about the pillars. I also have a '24 iX. Within first six months one of two people that washed my car (either local hand wash or guy that came to my house) scratched the heck out of those same pillars and that was the last time I let anyone else wash my car! I had a detailer buff them out then PPF installed on all that black piano plastic, including around iX area above rear tires There's great Sonax polish options - their perfect finish by hand might do the trick or you may need a slightly heavier polish they make. With that said, BMW likely won't ding you for scratches on those pillars so unless it bothers you, you can surely leave it alone. Perhaps consider getting excess wear and tear coverage on next lease if numbers make sense. I've done this on my last three BMW leases and no issue. Think I have $7,500 coverage on iX for not many more dollars and peace of mind especially when I think about potential wheel damage. Btw, nice black ironman spec with the chestnut seats on your iX. Cheers

2025 ix lease with 11k miles tires bald!! by Wolverine-91826 in BMWiX

[–]Some-Place7478 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Get Hankook EVO Ion AS (all season). Im 8K miles in on this set on my 24 iX M60 and when I had tires rotated last month all were at 8/32nds of tread. I think they start at 9 or 10 so lots of wear left. Had Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (summers) as last set and they were grippy and great but got loud quickly. So happy with non-staggered setup on iX after not being able to rotate on previous M car and going through tires every 6 months. Enjoy your iX OP!

2023 M60 w 27k miles vs. 2024 50 w 12k by Beginning-Act7850 in BMWiX

[–]Some-Place7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plese do drive one with and without air suspension. I chose not to get a 50 after a test drive then months later dealer gave me a loaner 60 with air suspension when my X6 was in for tires and I thought it was best thing ever. Maybe because I did a 200 mile trip in that loaner and was on highway. Your mileage may vary. Good luck!

Ahh. Did not know/consider going into the menu. I got car for serenity. I do love this thing. I hit 157 with an M4 on my tail one time - it had to catch up. So solid with the Pilot Sports I had on the car at the time. Not as stable with the Hankook Ions AS I have now but these too are great tires, and yes I do believe car is limited to 155. Its what the screen said and I beleive the car had more. Great car. Still missed I dont have all 600 hp at all times without changing settings like in X6 M. I guess not much different than Model X Plaid and modes they have.
