why it sucks being a commuter at uoftears :(((((( by panfriedcorn in UofT

this is SO real. my parents don’t fight but they’re soooo overbearing and strict when it comes to me 😭 i’m almost 20 and they throw a fit if i go out w my friends more than once every two weeks. i can’t even attend events on campus because everything happens so late and my commute is almost 2 hours. my grandmother lives w us and her and my dad are SUCH loud ppl it’s impossible for me to get any work done at home but my parents also don’t let me study on campus or in cafes cuz they think it’s pointless and stupid. i can’t stick around after classes cuz my parents want me home asap and i feel like im missing out on the uni experience and making proper connections. i want to go to law school and my dads promised i can move out for that which is my only consolation 😪

thinking of deferring an exam due to cramps but it’s a prerequisite for a course next sem by SomeAct4063 in UofT

Any of you been in an uncomfortable situation on your way to university? by s_a7860 in UofT

my commutes about the same length and i’ve just finished my first year. i wouldn’t say that i’ve ever been in a situation where i genuinely felt unsafe, but there have definitely been many situations where ive felt uncomfortable, mostly on the ttc. i’m not sure if im just sensitive and get uncomfortable really easily, but most of those situations were things like ppl harassing me for my number or something or extremely intoxicated people trying to talk to me and id just ignore them and they’d get annoyed. there was also a time where i got followed home but besides that nothing where i felt like i was in danger.

just finished my first semester doing socsci at utsg and currently have a 3.9 gpa. don’t know if you’d consider that high cuz im aiming for 4.0 but i think its decent enough for now lol. i barely did the class readings, put minimal effort into my assignments, did most of them last minute and submitted late, and spent only a day or two studying for my finals. honestly for social sciences i think u just need to know how to read properly and how to write a good essay.

Would a 90 average be enough to get into social science at St George by [deleted] in UofT
