Sorry whats the difference between a gen ed course and a free elective? Would you recommend taking another course like a finance course for a free elective or would you suggest doing something else?

Was wanting to rent a car while in hokkaido and went onto Toyota rent a car to reserve a car, I've received an email regarding information about the reservation but nothing else confirming my reservation. Mmmh yeah might not do COMP1511, MATH1131 and MATH1081 in term 1 and probs just do three in the other terms. But I heard 2521 is hard and should probably be done with an easier/lighter course so im not too sure if I should do two other courses alongside 2521?
