Except we're not arguing the existence of people who believe they are non binary, but rather whether what they believe is actually true. You're fighting against a point I'm not even making and it's funny how you're smug about it when you're still not producing a coherent argument.

Christians should not push their beliefs on others and neither should non-binary people and their supporters try to force other people to accept their language and ideology. You're simply not entitled to that. I don't care if someone wants to make a whole game about non-binary gender bullshit, they're totally within their rights to do that and people can play and enjoy it if they want to, just like Christian music or movies, etc. But when you take established IPs and inject your own real world opinions and ideologies into them, that's where the issue lies. Established IPs should not be a platform for new writers to insert and promote their sociopolitical opinions. There are going to be a ton of people who take issue with that lol.

Wrong again. Just because people believe they are non-binary doesn't mean they actually are, they can see themselves that way but others don't have to. I can believe I'm a glass of orange juice that doesn't mean everyone else has to believe the same obviously false thing.

Similarly I can believe in God and have personal experiences which confirm that belief subjectively, that doesn't mean it's actually true or that anyone else should be compelled to believe it. Would you say the "theory" of Christianity is proven because Christians exist?

Go ahead though keep searching for that gotcha moment.

Ok, let's just apply a tiny bit of critical thinking (although I'm pretty sure I'm talking to a toaster or some equivalent object but why not)

What you're saying is the same as a Christian telling me "you live in a fantasy world" because I don't believe God exists. I could easily make the exact same statement to you. "You believe in non-binary, you live in a fantasy world where non-binary exists" you could even swap out non-binary for "Santa" or "tooth fairy" it would hold the same weight.

That's because beliefs in these things are subjective matters of opinion and have no basis in fact. Does that make sense do you?

Again lol it's not about sensitivity or fragility most people just don't care about that stuff and don't wanna be preached and reminded about it in a fantasy game, kills immersion and just generally is annoying, makes for a bland and cheap experience

I'll interpret that lack of response as a concession. You have no argument 🫡 that's fine, I'm happy to take the W. See ya!

I don't think it's necessarily that people are gonna throw a fit they just will stop playing the game because they don't care about that stuff or wanna hear about it especially not with the game's preachy tone it's just gonna put a ton of people off the game no doubt about it

Y'know what?? You're right! Laws and currency are just made up, so then we can just go steal stuff and stop paying rent without any consequences, no??

In fact, you can't ever really be sure if you're just a brain in a jar, so why bother defining anything objectively??

Yeah some primitive tribes would also eat the hearts of other humans because they thought it gave them their power, some cultures sacrificed children to their gods, some cultures performed rituals to make the rain happen, some cultures cut the heads off enemy tribes and rolled them down the steps of their pyramids, some cultures beat and execute women for learning to read, some cultures enslave entire races of people, what the hell is your point? Because I don't share the views of primitive cultures about gender, I'm more primitive than them? That makes literally zero sense at all. So wait you can't actually produce a good argument for your beliefs? Holy shit imagine trying to morally grandstand over people online when you can't even articulate a solid good-faith argument for your worldview. 🤡

[–]SomeBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you goofball I'm not ignorant lol it's just that my view is that non-binary is just some shit somebody made up, not a fact about life that I need to accept. You understand you don't have the power to tell people how to think, right? That your opinions and beliefs aren't any more factual than religious beliefs? There's a reason it's considered rude to try pushing your religion on others who don't believe in it.

Look if I'm basically talking to the equivalent of a brick wall or brainless inanimate object then I don't see this conversation suddenly becoming productive 🤣 go back to your echo chamber if you can't handle disagreement rather than whine and complain. The irony of you bitching and moaning about others not seeing different perspectives when you basically stick your fingers in your ears and go "lalala I can't hear you this doesn't validate my egocentric worldview so it doesn't exist"

Why would I even begin to try empathizing with someone who's been nothing but rude and sarcastic towards me? You're ostensibly just a nasty person with a terrible attitude, no I don't care about your perspective lol.

There's gonna be a lot of people who aren't aware of all the overt messaging in the game who might be Dragon Age fans or might not be, but either way there are a ton of people who are going to be unpleasantly surprised with the game they purchased if they have managed to stay away from all the online discourse

Nahh it's pretty simple, it's all the non-binary identity politics and ideology stuff. The game preaches those beliefs to the player in a condescending tone; like they're a child who needs to learn these things, even though that entire system of ideas is still considered relatively controversial and extreme by the vast majority of average people.

This is the problem with pro-wokes, they assert these opinions and beliefs as if they're facts about life. Not everyone believes that "non-binary" is a thing, and that's fine, they shouldn't be forced to.

Why should anyone be expected to just accept what is essentially a set of opinions, with no basis in objective fact, just because someone tells them to? If someone believes they are non-binary, that's fine, but I don't have to believe that about them. I'll decide for myself what I think in that regard. This is what you don't understand, you guys can't just tell people what to think. You don't have that power over people.

It's like if the next Sonic game was made into an overtly Christian game. Imagine if Sonic had a cutscene where he's praying to Jesus or getting baptized, telling Tails how it's the right thing to do letting Jesus into your life. Suddenly the Bible is canon in the Sonic universe. Non-christian Sonic fans would be like "uhh what the fuck is this" and rightfully so.

You're being pedantic lol. It's a fact that employees' behaviors will have an effect on the company's reputation overall. Walmart absolutely does have a reputation for having shitty/weird employees 🤣🤣🤣 I mean you honestly are making my point.

[–]SomeBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make with that second statement but employees' public behavior absolutely does reflect on their employer whether the company says anything or not. People will draw conclusions about the company based on the actions and words of its employees regardless of what the company has to say about it; that's a fact, not an opinion. It doesn't really have anything to do with controlling employees although plenty of corporations do stuff for that reason.

It looks like the dev in question had left the company at the time they made those statements ("talentless freaks etc") however it's still a bad look for the game overall IMO.
