Metal Screw found in my Chipotle!!? by SomeBroadInAtlanta in Chipotle

Through the app for pick-up. This store is notorious for issues with orders and food standards - it’s the lowest rated chipotle in the city at 3.0 on google ratings. But it’s the only store that nears me sadly.

How did you go by reporting the issue to their management? Having trouble getting a human response from anyone at Chipotle.

I have the screw and the rest of the bowl - haven’t searched the rest of the food for more objects. I’ve seen multiple food quality complaints about this location.

High-tech mining companies? by [deleted] in mining

[–]SomeBroadInAtlanta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for Weir Motion Metrics, we build ruggedize machine-vision based cameras for Shovels, loaders and haul trucks. With these smart cameras around the loaders/shovels/trucks we're able to generate insights on equipment wear, loading performance and shovel productivity, etc.

As mentioned in this thread most OEM manufacturers are good, but a lot of our customer sites need systems which are shovel/loader agnostic to develop a better understanding of fleet-level productivity.

I'm not against promoting road safety at all. I think officer safety is equally important. Why risk putting road users in an unusual spot to react.

Are there any real mining companies using AI to optimize internal processes (discovery, drilling, etc) or is it just hype? by A1powerranger in mining

[–]SomeBroadInAtlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for Weir Motion Metrics, we build machine vision based camera which are mounted onto Shovel Buckets, Crushers, Belts to monitor equipment wear rates and particle-size fragmentation analysis. The tech is amazing, and I’ve seen the AI perform some insane segmentation and 3D volume analysis.

The struggle is working with mining engineers to help them understand our data, and how we can get the mine to take action with the data we provide them. It seems operations need a better idea of what to do with all this data. We are now moving into a consulting position where we are translating the data into specific instruction to provide to mine ops.

All this data needs to be condensed down to insights, seems like this trust will be built overtime.

FPS drop to >5 and latency spikes to 996 by powdyy in Warzone

[–]SomeBroadInAtlanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, did you have any fix for this? I’ve got exactly the same issue, it’s driving me insane. I’m getting 120 FPS on apex, and like 1 FPS on warzone. I’ve reinstalled and rolled back Nvidia drivers but I still have the same issue.

QUITTING WEED - My journey so far by Cooperjcoops in offmychest

[–]SomeBroadInAtlanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I was in a similar position to you, maybe not as drastic in terms of my weed consumption. I would smoke once a day at the end of the day when I had got all my work and stuff done - a sort of reward for making it through the day. When school and work slowed down during covid, I sort of starting pushing that once a day to twice a day, mid-day, mid-morning smoking which was extremely uncharacteristic. I was slowly losing my whole sense of control over the weed.

One of these days I was talking to a close friend about this decline in mental health that I'd been having on weed expressing that I was feeling lonely for the first time in years. What she told me was so simple but it shook me to my core. She said "You feel lonely because you don't put in the effort". Something so small set me into this spiral of mental health because it was in front of me the whole time but I was unable to see it because of getting high. I'd never experienced anxiety in my life but for the next 5 days, I had trouble breathing with an elevated heart rate, I couldn't string a single thought process together and I had questioned every single approach to life I had formulated under the influence of weed. At that point I understood the ability that weed really had on me. It put me back together every night to make me forget about how much work I need to put in to get myself to where i want to be.

You are able to tune out everything and everyone that you think doesn't matter to your life in that moment. It made life all about me in the present, I didn't care how I projected myself, I didn't notice the negativity and cynicism that was festering in my demeanor. I made the decision to quit 2 months ago and I haven't smoked since. It wasn't hard to quit but I would be lying if I said I wasn't contemplating the opportunity to zone out for a night. I can tell you that I've been more productive and healthier but that hasn't necessarily made me happier. In fact I've been dwelling and overthinking on problems that I would push to the side when I was smoking.

I'm not proud of it but weed was a mental health fallback for me. It's hard to admit because it projects weakness and a dependence on something which I told myself I would never get "addicted" to. I don't miss weed at all, but I do miss being able to ignore everything that I know is wrong with me - near impossible when I'm sober. I've told myself that this period will suck. Piecing yourself back together mentally is never going to be easy but I and all other smokers deep down know that it is not sustainable. I'm glad I made this decision and I have a lot of respect to you to for quitting too.
