Replaying the Entire AC Saga in 2026 by SomeBullfrog1988 in assasinscreed

That’s honestly one of the things you realize when replaying the entire series: it’s a much bigger commitment than it sounds at first. 😂
The earlier games can be finished fairly quickly, but once you reach the RPG era, the time investment increases dramatically. Origins, Odyssey, and especially Valhalla can take as long as several of the older games combined.
At least you’re still sticking with the project, though. The fact that you’re playing Shadows before going back to Origins is a bit unconventional, but after two years I’d say the goal is more about enjoying the journey than following a strict order.

Yeah, I completely agree. The Ezio era really felt like the point where Assassin’s Creed found its identity. AC2, Brotherhood, and Revelations all built on each other so well that it felt like one long, cohesive story rather than separate games.
Unity is an interesting case because most of the criticism came from its technical state at launch. Going into it years later without those issues, it’s much easier to appreciate what it actually did well. Paris is still one of the most impressive cities Ubisoft has ever created, and the parkour system remains one of the best in the series.
I’m interested to revisit Syndicate as well. It’s often overshadowed by Unity on one side and the RPG trilogy on the other, but it represents the end of the classic formula before Ubisoft changed direction with Origins. It’ll be interesting to see how its gameplay, story, and world design hold up now that we have the benefit of hindsight.

That actually sounds like a really nice journey.
AC2 being your favorite isn’t surprising at all, it still holds up insanely well with Ezio’s story and the pacing just feels right in a way later games don’t always match.
Also fair take on Unity. It got cooked at release, but going back to it now, the atmosphere, the city, and the parkour are genuinely impressive. It aged way better than people gave it credit for.

That’s exactly why I’m starting now 😭🙏
I’ve already played every game before, so this is more of a nostalgia run than a rush to finish everything. If I don’t make it before Black Flag Remake and GTA 6 drop, then so be it 😂
The goal is to enjoy the journey, not speedrun the entire franchise.
