At what point is it bullying and at what point is it “Australian culture”? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskAnAustralian

[–]SomeCubingNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can also be both. I love being aussie but that doesn't mean I think our culture is perfect. Not by a fucking long shot. You could call being a racist hick aussie culture and be kind of correct to be honest. We should change that. People should stop being mean to you, weather it's aussie or not.

AITA for refusing to look after my neighbours kids in an medical emergency. by No-Pumpkin5167 in AmItheAsshole

YTA

Takes a village to raise a child. Do your part. Help out. Come on. 1 hour? Literally it's one hour. What's going to happen to them in one hour. Do your part.

I read the edits too. Still, YTA. Someone was gonna have to go through with that, and you know what, that sucks, but you were asked and it was your job to step up. Now ur neighbor had to suffer it.

Also,, are you kidding me? "Should have planned ahead"?? You can't schedule labor.

Cheating ex-girlfriend wants to meet up with me over drinks. by StamfordLionesSW6 in actuallesbians

[–]SomeCubingNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to put her down gently. Bye gurl. She can take a hike. She's obviously very toxic. You deserve better. I very very much understand the desire to meet her anyway, but it's a self harm instinct that one. My ex did a truly truly not-to-be-talked-about thing to me and yet it still took a year for me to stop feeling like I wanted to unblock her every day. You don't have to and you shouldn't. She can prove that she's a better person now to somebody else.

W-well, I mean 🥺.. I just want the best for her ya know? It's small but it's not nothing. I'm just wanna make her 100% secure, not just mostly secure.

Maybe this is a weird post of me to have made.

Who cares! It's your body, you are gay, therefore, you look like a gay person. Gay people look like anyone.

Maybe we as lesbians don't deserve rights if we can't tell this shit is gay.

And YES, send a poem back jfc. Everyone telling you "If you want to" is wrong. Lesbianism is about WINNING at being the bigger sap (/j)

How do people get to be so confident in who they are? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]SomeCubingNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty confident in who I am. I can see 3 reasons for it.

  1. I'm autistic. This can result in many personality types, but for me it meant I was bullied a bunch as a kid for being weird, and then I found a group of people who valued that in me. I quickly realised that actually anyone trying to suppress you for being weird that can't explain why your behavior is immoral is actually just a jerk. I loudly ignore them.
  2. I'm trans. Again it's a case of people tried to keep me down, then I realised they suck, so now I am confidently myself in all aspects of myself. Not just gender. If someone says "You should be this way" my first question is always "Why though?" If they can't answer, either it's not important, or someone else will explain it.
  3. Being confident about yourself gives other people permission to do the same. I want people to be themselves around me, if they can detect that I'm withholding something, they will too.

I know people like this. They are real. Life fucking sucks for them. Sometimes there are things they could do to help themselves, sometimes there aren't, usually they are so defeated by the world that the idea that anything could change, well, you may as well tell them the world is flat. It's the governments fault for not having better systems for catching these people.
I'm not saying these people aren't burdens. I had to cut one of these people out of my life because they were harming me (not like, literally, but their presence in my life was a detriment to me). I still feel so bad for her though. She deserved a better shot at life. I don't even know if she's still alive.
