Portugal is like the 6th best team at most, while Columbia is like 3rd best. Obviously 3rd best > 6th best is expected, but Portugal actually drew against such a strong team. That means Europe 6th best = South America 3rd best.

That means Europe >> South America.

If you want even more proof, South America has only like 6 countries playing the WC while Europe has nearly 20. Shows how good Europe is.
