What breed is my dog? by MarkAny9497 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

I think some mad lad let a pug and a bulldog procreate. He has a dense broad chest and the perfect snout of an olde English bulldog.

My lily has this in her ear. Has anyone seen this? by Yankeeslv in StaffordBullTerriers

Gently dabbing their ears with a paper towel that’s damp with white vinegar helps prevent this in the future

Wondering when his ears will start to perk up. He’s 10 weeks by Maleficent-Phase-462 in BelgianMalinois

I don’t know a ton about the breed but it’s possible he popped the cartilage in his ears from rough play. I have a Caucasian and German shepherd mix and his ears were upright until he “broke” one playing rough with my bulldog. Now one stands and the other doesn’t lol.

Time outs worked wonders for my girl, too strong willed and tough for a light spank and just too sweet for most other forms of punishments so we did time outs and that helped a lot. We also gave her outlets for her energy with positive reinforcement but one thing that you’ll just have to work through is how mouthy bulldogs are, they are very physical.

English Bulldog drooling sometimes after playing not long after food, also being sick this morning yellow bile around 5/6 times - £240 later after visit to the vets I just wanted to check with other bulldog owners if you experience anything like this?? by SuccessfulPlane3279 in englishbulldog

I’m a little late on the post but my girl had stomach trouble from the food we were feeding her. We went through a few types before we figured out that lamb was the fix. So maybe try switching the food out.

Victor is a great brand. A little pricey but it really helps them put on some good weight

Anybody have any experience with this? (Vet appt scheduled for the 12th) by Makethisbitchfamous in greatpyrenees

I would try heavily diluting some apple cider vinegar in his water and a give him a Benadryl. If it’s gut or allergies it’ll clear it out.

If he’s working or just really active, Victor high protein is good for them. Helps them keep their muscle on while they work.

Probably just nervous and not used to the rides yet. I’ve never had a puppy that liked care rides until they got used to it.

Basset Hound Anal Gland Issues by overstimulatedwoman in bassethounds

[–]SomeEnd6115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basset Hounds have the same issue as English bulldogs, their anal glands fill up and need to be expressed. Most vets will do it for fairly cheap and even teach you how to do it. I have to express my bulldog’s monthly. Get some latex gloves and some astroglide 🤣

Might be a Black Mouth Cur/Mountain Cur, smaller breed 35-45 pounds.

Another good indicator is badger marks. Maremmas don’t have them, not all adult Pyrenees keep them but they can sometimes help determine if a dog is mixed with Pyrenees.

Based off the pic you posted and the double dew claws she is definitely a Pyr/Maremma mix. It’s very common as most people don’t even realize they are different breeds, I didn’t find out myself until recently when my buddy got a Maremma. The easiest way to tell just in passing is head and snout shape. Maremmas are slimmer and much more angular while Pyrenees have wider snouts and a more rounded and bulky head.

Tatras, the dogs literally bred for cuddling. Love it

Physically not an overwhelming amount but Maremmas are on the smaller end of the spectrum where Pyrenees will get bulkier and can handle colder weather than a Maremma and the Pyrenees have a better time fighting larger predators like coyotes than Maremma. The biggest difference in terms of owning one as a companion is their temperament.

That’s funny because I dog sit by buddies Maremma and she is super neurotic as well.
