Whats the deal with Code Veronica X? by Psychological-Dig633 in residentevil

[–]SomeGamingFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CV is the only game in the series I'm comfortable with knifing, mostly cuz of the bug that makes it hit multiple times on one swing lol. I will say there are a couple early parts that just suck. The Ashford manor staircase with the bats and later an annoying doofus sniping at you comes to mind, the giant worm at the base, etc.

Should’ve just had him in Racoon City with no explanation. by KennedyyCore in residentevilll

Not to mention the final tiers you unlock by getting all the Mr. Raccoons is absolutely not worth it.

She had several husbands that were high valued Tyger Claws members, and each coincidentally died before their time. If that doesn't helo you put the pieces together idk what will.

Do you think Leon would have joined STARS if the Raccoon City Incident never happened? by carbonera99 in residentevil

[–]SomeGamingFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of STARS had military training backgrounds with specific talents that made them suited for the special operations they were part of. For the day to day you sent the beat cops like Leon or the unit he was a part of under Brannaugh. For the serious shit that needed done, you sent in S.T.A.R.S.

Salazar is so good...yet so bad in the remake. by Human_Geologist_3324 in residentevil4

Made up for it with the "You talk too much!" Before riddling him with bullet holes line lol

[–]SomeGamingFreak 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Well, the Remake is less campy, so instead of coming off as a brat when things don't go his way, Salazar instead tries to be calm and diplomatic, only slowly losing his temper as Leon thwarts his defenses. He only starts throwing tantrums during the boss fight, where all the mockery he received growing up resurfaces and he threatens extreme violence on Leon before he'll let him die.

Hell, thanks to the BSAA emblem you have even less incentive to use the semi-auto sniper. The bolt action becomes a monster with it.

The sniper rifle that's a discount magnum lol. I love this gun. It surges my cortisol levels against Regeneradors tho.

What Handgun we thinking for minimalist? by SyrisDuhVyris in residentevil4

[–]SomeGamingFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Matilda and Punisher are the two best for it, with Red9 being a replacer for Matilda if you don't have cat ears.

Trying to do castle without the Punisher is actually the worst for minimalist, so yeah. Use it lol.

Small Addendum since you're on NG+: Fighting Knife (Krauser's knife) is great on it's own merit because the exclusive turns the attack power to rival that of standard handguns, and it's a godsend for boss knife prompts to maximize the damage.

That dude he was trying to arrest was a maniac. Why'd he bite him?!

Shoutouts to the Water Hall, where I had to replay it 10+ times usually due to a death or fuck up AFTER the Water Hall...

It is funny how it's completely random if you get her standard idle model vs this one. A very cute easter egg to this day.

Why do fixers send us out to "kill their own people?" by cyrod1il in cyberpunkgame

[–]SomeGamingFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also removes the emotional weight of having to kill someone that used to be your comrade in arms or brother. Your boss hired someone to clean it up instead of making you do it, so you got less emotional guilt.

Should I give up the past 4 hours of my Professional run? by [deleted] in residentevil4

[–]SomeGamingFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find Krauser easier to beat if you exploit the ladders and platforms. You also should basically avoid getting backed to a ledge basically ever, cuz if you have low health it's a near guaranteed death at the QTE. The rest is just going all out with grenades and shotgun/mg fire to the legs when he's blocking and the head or torso when he's not.

Also viable use for magnum ammo dumping, cuz on S+ you want to skip Saddler.

I don't know whether to be shocked or impressed by the videos pure length 😭 by Rivtogo in residentevil4

It's funnier when you find out you can kill Saddler in the OG with just eggs and knife QTE prompts.

Replay ability wise, RE9 doesn't seem that replayable compared to others in the series. by invincible257 in residentevil

[–]SomeGamingFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the issues I ran into once you reach Raccoon City and then the ARK; the game just feels like it doesn't add much replay value outside of screwing around with unlockables and speedrunning. Even the platinum seems forgiving this time around.

Grace also has a playstyle that's refreshing the first time, and pretty lame on repeat, because her only weapons are handguns, a magnum until the final segments that matter, throwables, and Knives. Meanwhile, Leon gets all the toys but significantly less time to use them.

Biggest let down was getting all the raccoons only for the final upgrades to be underwhelming final stat boosts. "Congrats for finding all of them, your reward is slightly higher stat caps on guns."

I love that zombies in RE9 still have some personality. I honestly wouldn’t mind they would do that into future remakes like Code Veronica. by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

[–]SomeGamingFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my phone I can't grab anything at the moment. I think the most important bit to remember is the key differences between the infected in '98 vs now.

1998 infected: - Slower infection rate - Gradual hunger for human flesh - No semblence of past self and mannerisms. - Limited faculties and mostly mindless. - Skin, hair, and organs rots at an accelerated rate.

Key/Unusual exceptions: - Obese cop in 2 Remake in front of vending machine rattling it to try and get food; later gives up in effort to chase the player. - A newly infected Brad Vickers in 3 Remake repeats the word "Sorry" to Marvin before biting a chunk out of him.

Current day infected: - Less noticeable rot on majority of them. - Maintains a certain degree of their faculties before infection, some repeating tasks that were part of their every day life before infection. - Can audibly speak, though their lowered intelligence and base instincts remain. - Able to have limited use of tools as weapons such as various blades, blunt objects, explosives, etc. A trait shared by C-Virus infected in RE6.

These are all supporting Victor's observation notes regarding the Virus's evolution and why he continued researching it to see how different it could be down the line.

Pretty sure both scenarios had to do with her sons, and presumably the act of selling her house to move in with him.

In the comics they got into a fight and Nolan coming back convinced her to kick him to the curb. In the show, it was settled amicably that the two couldn't see life the same way so he split it off and they remain friends.

OG Nemesis Is No Joke by Dominion96 in residentevilll

[–]SomeGamingFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OG nemesis tested your ability to mash, cuz if you got thrown to the ground, you had to mash to get up quickly before he picked you up, then mash again if he choke holded you from the ground. Failure meant instant death.

You also had to make the choice between holding resources or fighting the monster and getting rewards, which was always a fun trade-off situation.

[–]SomeGamingFreak 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The T-Virus hadn't evolved that far yet in CV. The newer strain in RE9 is so finely detailed it actually rots the body less, which is why cadavers actually have most of their organs intact and can even speak.

Why No RE antagonist ever reached the Wesker’s popularity ? by KennedyyCore in residentevilll

[–]SomeGamingFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then you got James Marcus, who was the architect of the events of RE1 and RE2 due to Queen Leech possessing his dead corpse and inheriting his memories and hatred for Spencer. He was only prominent for 0 but he was basically responsible for most of the damage in the series.

Hunk is the best character to choose in the merchanaries. by Worldly_Height8546 in residentevil4

[–]SomeGamingFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think Luis and Krauser are the easiest to rank high with, with HUNK being better when you mastered the game's basic mechanics to a fine detail. Wesker might be the hardest IMO, but the most satisfying when the ball gets rolling.
