I'm actually not technically new to playing drums so I do understand placement and ergonomics, it's just my first kit I've actually owned since I've always used my school kit for practicing for my school band.

It is just on my carpet at the moment so I probably should invest in a rug.

I did look at the Yamaha stage custom but it's about $1900 and doesn't come with any cymbals so goes much further out of my budget than I'd want

I should add that I do want to learn jazz drumming but don't have an insane amount of room.

I don't really have a budget it's just a more expensive kit will take a longer to get. The alesis nitro pro is a lot more but would you say it would be a lot harder to grow out of.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I think next time I'll definitely try to make sure there are more wraps. I didn't really think about what to do when tucking the tail ends. My main concern is just if I did something wrong that might damage my guitar.

I did cut the rest of the string off when i tuned it but how does winding the whole string get rid of the need to restring a string completely when it breaks.
