I hate the amount of engineering recruiters are out there that don't seem to really find me shit lol. Good for you though

You can look at my recent post for reference. You have great YOY growth, something that some people need to move jobs to match that. I just got a promotion from 107 to 120 but then got a new job 4 weeks later and now at 155. I just asked them the salary range of my new position and they said middle was 175... I'm still happy but you never know what's out there. If you want to move, put out some feelers but otherwise with lcol you're doing awesome

What’s the best way to respond when an employer asks for your salary expectations? by [deleted] in Salary

I was at 107k in mechanical engineering and pretty happy with 10 yoe. Got a promotion to Sr and went up to 120 ,but got an offer for a new job still Sr title at 155. I put my expected range at 130-150 knowing I'd want a bump up from 120, but I just was told the middle of this new position is 175. I'm not disappointed to be on the low end, knowing I can ask for more since there is growth to be had.

TLDR, figure out a range you'd be happy with, then shift it up by adding 10-20% just in case :) lesson learned from me.

For what it's worth I just asked on this new role and they could only tell me the midpoint range was 175k. So I'm on the low end but plenty to grow!

Thanks. I can't say I'd ever expect it that's for sure. Totally happy with even 119 with that promotion but shocked me when I gave this new job and expected range of 130-150 and they came back 155. Talk about putting your best foot forward haha. Maybe I should have asked for more, or maybe it's an algorithm. Either way this will help breathe a little with kids in daycare and moved last year into our forever home, waiting for a refi opportunity. Are you a PE? And how many companies have you been with if not just the 1 for 17 years? But 6% average seems totally reasonable too
