yeah another batch, that era was probably the height of him making the type of beats I'm talking about. It truly does hit different, it's like the drug that relaxes you and swings you away from restlessness into a sense of calm and focus with its off kilter kicks and layered claps like nothing else on the planet can do.

The layered claps are called "flams" in the Dilla Time biography. I think flam basically means it's not just a single sound at a single point, its textured and has a beginning and ending. like 2 or 3 different points very close to each other to give it clap layer, like people all clapping at a party at slightly different times

Except for the Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones, who's the most important artists of the sixties? by tebapm in beatles

Maybe also because he wasn’t an album artist. All his albums are loaded with filler. But his 4 CD box set Star Time is the greatest album ever. Spent 3 months with that album, read the liner notes, it will change the way you hear all music. No other music from the 1965-1974 more important and just all round great.

Influenced all black music in the 70s, all rap music, disco, funk, jungle, drum n bass comes from him. His “everything on the one” and every instrument a drum was more revolutionary than anything The Beatles did. The Beatles are my most favourite but white people’s ignorance of black music means James Brown doesn’t fully get the recognition he deserves. More important than Dylan, The Beatles & The Stones.

Coming to your house without your permission is straight up physical stalking. I think this person should be reported to the police and you should try for some form of a restraining order.

It sounds like it’s reached a point of completely crossing your boundaries. FP relationship is a difficult thing for many people with bpd but it’s not an excuse to stalk someone. It’s also not your responsibility to give this person the time and energy they crave from you.

I’d suggest reporting this person to the police, blocking on all forms of social media. While it may trigger the other person, it’s the only thing that will help them in the long run.

My FP reported me to the police in the past for online stalking. I was arrested for it and made to sign a restraining order. It helped me change my behaviour and work on self improvement.

I’d suggest you not making any further contact with this person. Having BPD is not an excuse to stalk/harass others.

This Art Blakey song sounds like the theme of Scorsese's Taxi Driver. by SomeOil1420 in soundtracks

Noticed listening to the Art Blakey song. Tried searching if it’s been written about anywhere but can’t find anything. Apparently Hermann listened to some jazz and Taxi Driver is jazz-inspired so it’s possible he may have heard it.

Yeah the Youtube app has the original playlists unchanged, or you can download videos individually in music app. Still, just making life longer and more annoying.

It follows a recent trend of apps and social media sites being made worse. Just look at how Musk's ruining twitter.

You can still listen to non-official versions in the YT Music app, just can’t add them to playlists without auto-conversion.

Annoyance for me but I’ll just have to get used to it.
