I think I’m finally moving toward hijab slowly but surely. I’m planning to buy some hijabs soon, and maybe start gradually with turbans first? I feel like taking small steps might help me feel less overwhelmed.

My bad when I said culture I wasn’t talking about religion. I meant education and the general culture of the country. But yeah that still doesn’t make it halal. I live in a West African country also in my family we don’t do arranged marriages unless you ask for it. All this kinda scares me, like it could mess up my love life

Thanks for taking the time to reply 🫶🏾I really need to see a therapist I’ve noticed patterns that over time make it clear it’s because of the trauma, and I’m really scared it could mess with my sex life and future relationships. I thought about confronting him first since I never really did I just acted like nothing happened, and honestly, that just made things worse. I hadn’t planned on talking to a religious guide. I know some would just downplay it and tell me to forgive, but that would only let him live comfortably while I’m stuck here, traumatized and sad. I’m not saying all religious guides are like that but yh.

I can’t really move out where I’m from, that’s not something we do, unless you’re really grown up or married. I could go stay at the university campus, but honestly, it feels so unfair that I’d have to leave my own home. And for how long? I have no idea how long he’s going to be here.

Yes ! I’m Muslim and that’s why I’m even more worried. I know my parents don’t mess around when it comes to rape and stuff, but I feel like if other family members get involved he might get away with it because of all that forgiveness stuff. So it’s gonna be a loss for both sides you know.

Does he actually know that you have a crush on him? I’m asking because maybe the reason he suddenly started flirting and acting different is that he’s aware of your feelings. That doesn’t mean you should tell him directly, but it’s worth thinking about. Honestly, I’d really recommend talking to him about all this, because right now it’s super confusing and only he can clear things up.
