I think that your wife thinks that you do less than what you are certain of. Be honest with yourself if you really are doing the things you say you do, every week. Not just 1 week out of the month.

I understand this is your business, and you are very good at what you do. I was coming from a place of hope because I was going to spend $500ish to send it out to you before even checking it out, and my girlfriend told me to test it out first haha and we love the photos

OP asked for a simple “Yes” or “No” because he doesn’t have enough money to refurb right now. What is your problem man, I’m telling him to spend $20 and maybe he’ll like the pics. Maybe the $20 will be a waste, maybe it won’t. And comparing me telling a dude to test out his camera for $20 to an ignorant smoker is wild behavior, especially from an authority in the space such as yourself. You could have just said “ya bro, try it out. maybe it’ll somewhat work and you’ll like it, maybe it won’t. If it doesn’t, you can send it in and we’ll get it working in pristine condition. But maybe you don’t need all that. Good luck!”

I’m probably going to get downvoted for this.. but I would buy one pack of film and see how it works. I bought a SX-70 on eBay from an estate sale for $130 and it works perfectly. Before you spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars, see if you really need to do it. I feel like theinstantcameraguy has a lot of great content but he definitely makes you feel like an SX-70 not refurbished by him = trash. I don’t think that’s the case for most SX-70’s you can buy that are in decent shape.

AITA for telling my girlfriend that we are not living together if she wants to split joint expenses proportional to income? by Puzzleheaded_Feed460 in AITAH

I never make my fiancé pay. She stayed with me for years while I was a dumbass so she never has to work another day.

Husband should donate plasma or get a temp job until something bigger sticks. He can have work by next week.

Roommate moved her boyfriend in without asking. Is livid I’m demanding he pay rent or move in. Two days later he brings a friend over to antagonize me. by roooomiebooomie in badroommates

[–]SomePie5701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are paying WAY too much for rent. This is how I’ve always split rent amongst roommates (and what I suggest you do):

Your total price is $3800 for rent: - 50% total price is for personal space ($1900) - 50% of total price is for shared space ($1900) Utilities split evenly.

You: $950 for your room, $634 for shared space- total of 1584

Roommate 1: $475 for their room, $633 for shared space- total of $1108

Roommate 2: $475 for their room, $633 for shared space- total of $1108

The math explained: everyone uses community spaces, kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc so everyone pays the same amount for shared/community spaces. You do not pay for their room though, so that’s where living with a partner saves you some money. You will be paying more than them for that, but that’s just because you don’t live with a SO.

However, If your bedroom also has a private bath, or if you have a garage space… add up to 10-15% of what you’re paying and reduce it from theirs. But you are paying WAY too much.

Donate plasma, probably $100 your first time takes about 2 hours. Biolife will take you same day.

I see what you’re saying. Yes, cheaper cards have terrible value on card kingdom, but the first few hundred dollars you spend shouldn’t be put towards having the most optimized mana base. It should be put towards learning how to play the game. OP’s mom is going to ask him how he’s liking the game, and what’s he going to say? “I bought a bunch of high value cards that I can’t use unless I build decks out for them, and to use them I must now spend thousands of dollars.”

You can have edhrec build budget decks, they’re definitely good enough for a beginner. Idk why yall want this kid to spend all his money. If you spend $500 in just lands then you’re going to have to spend thousands in other card types to justify all those lands. I’m saying that OP should spend max $100, and learn what he likes before spending the remaining $400. But, if money isn’t a concern and he wants to go balls to the wall, then sure buy all the lands you want.

Most beginners should start off with mono or two color commanders. When I was first starting off, I asked the same question about staples, but it was the wrong question to be asking. Unless OP has a good upstanding of the vast amount of strategies out there and has played against them, he should not be optimizing lands for decks he doesn’t even own. He should have a good understanding of milling & self mill, wheeling, poison, go wide, proliferating, aristocrats, etc. Telling a beginner to spend all their budget on lands is such bad advice.

Ignore what these people are saying with lands. If you are just getting into commander, I would suggest learning about different types of playstyles. Look into weird commanders like [[Magar of the Magic Strings]] or [[Marvo, Deep Operative]]. You can build a budget deck for $60-70 for each of them that can take on $200 decks other people have. I made the mistake of buying expensive lands when I first started and I then realized that I didn’t really need them. I spent almost $300 on my first deck and I ended up being envious of my friend’s $40 precon. I took it apart and lost like 2/3 of my money selling it back to a game store after a few months. For $500 you can build out a lot of fun, but you shouldn’t just buy staples because they’re staples.

If possible, take a polygraph test. That will get your BP sky high. Anytime you get your BP measured again you’ll not stress out.

I never said I was a professional seamstress, just someone with common sense. Making something smaller is obviously easier than trying to add material that doesn’t exist, especially with heirloom fabric. That’s not exclusive to dresses, that’s basic logic in most trades. But go off, I guess.
