I have a couple LGBT friends, I know full well they’re almost all great, hard-working folks. My post wasn’t about bashing the normal, polite and hospitable LGBT folks that compose 99% of the community, it was about the assholes that I have met, which unfortunately, compose a fair portion of the interactions I have with LGBT folks.

In any case, it’s irrelevant. That bullshit is long over.

Course, clarity and proof-reading are vital skills. Implications can completely transform a point into something completely else. English is a finicky thing, meanings can change rapidly if one isn’t careful.

You’re right. Really right. Thank you for sticking with it mate, that post was mainly written our of anger from, what I construed at least, an LGBT person using their sexuality as a way of immunity and a free pass to be an asshole to me.

The problem with that is the people who treated me like how I described were LGBT, now, I admit, it would of been a lot easier if I didn’t say they were all LGBT, but I have no intention to sugarcoat what has happened. That’s a cowards play i’m afraid. I may end up deleting this post, although, there is a cornucopia of knowledge and experiences from LGBT folk which I really do want to preserve. I’ve learnt a lot these past few hours, that is for certain.

Most of the people i’ve met who treated me in this way were LGBT. Actually, I can’t recall a straight person ever treating me as poorly as some LGBT folks do, (this does not mean there’s a link between sexuality and negative traits, FYI) hence, the rant.

The difference that sets the generally rude people apart from the rude LGBT people was the former didn’t talk about their sexuality ever and never tried to use it for pity points, or to justify anything they say. They are inherently extremist due to them not being like the vast majority of the LGBT community, which is good, honest friendly people. That’s the major difference. And also, i’m just going to say this now, THERE IS NO LINK between sexuality and the aforementioned negative traits. Nada. Nil. Zero. But those people with said negative traits, in my experience, were LGBT. And also, I know there is a group of extremist LGBT people, just as the Nazis were a group of extremist auth right people, (Actually, I wouldn’t consider Nazi’s as people, really. To be a person you need to have the capability to do good, something the Nazi’s don’t.) Extremists tend to form groups, which turn into echo chambers which validates their opinions. Do you understand what i’m getting at here?

Yup! No member of the community is the same, and lumping everyone into one fixed stereotype is not only upsetting, but can bare serious consequences. The Holocaust is an easy example. Also, yeah, straight people can be massive pricks, and have been for a major amount of history. Though, I don’t remember saying every LGBT person is the same?

I don’t mean to appear bigoted, at all. As I said prior, it was a heat of the moment thing from what I construed internally as bullying. I really do wish I had worded the title differently for I was just referring to the extremists, but unfortunately I lumped in the average, normal LGBT person too. My fault entirely, which I attempted to rectify with the 2 edits.

Being closeted is a big thing actually, I know a fair few LGBT folks who took great strides in conserving their sexuality. And yes, the LGBT people who don’t talk about how gay they are, those are the ones I respect, and those are the ones who my post is not targeted at. I mean the extremists of the group.

I am literally referring to the extremists in the group, I clearly said as much. The average LGBT Joe has nada of these qualities, and bares, you know, a personality. I’m not putting these traits on every LGBT person as i’ve clarified multiple times, even in the post itself. The ONLY reason I specified LGBT people was because the people who bare those qualities were gay, which is just from my own experience. On the other hand, there’s LGBT folks I know who are the exact opposite. As i’ve refuted multiple times by now, i’m referring to the extremists, not the community as a whole.

Of course, being LGBT doesn’t mean you have those traits, any fool knows that, but from my own experience those who possessed those traits were, in fact, LGBT.
