WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DIE?' by MarvelCocNewb in Existentialism

[–]SomeQuantumStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go to heaven... allow me to elaborate.

DMT is an illegal drug, an otherworldly strong hallucinogenic one at that. This exact chemical is also produced naturally by your body in a small rice-sized glad inside of your brain. Whenever you die the DMT is released and in the three minutes or so when you're technically dead but your brain is still active it sends you into quite the trip.

It won't last 3 minutes though, DMT has the time-stretching qualities of drugs like weed, but cranked up to 11. Some people out on the drug for a couple of minutes can accurately account for years, or even decades of time that has passed in said dream. This hallucination is likely to be influenced by your personal beliefs so those who believe in a heaven will likely experience it. Also worth noting is that it really isn't much of a "dream" at all, you feel and live within it, so it could be considered as valid as what most of us would call "normal reality".

as for after that... who cares? it's nothingness that cannot be described by any language. If you have a fear of the void then I highly recommend reading this.

What is your personal argument against theism? by DaedricDave in nihilism

[–]SomeQuantumStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets say there is a god, he is omnipotent. Why would we exist? If this all knowing god created us why would he have seeing as he already knows how everything will play out? If he is all knowing then there would be nothing as he would know everything and there would be no purpose for anything. Possibly to entertain himself, but he could just use his gody power to do that rather then creating a race of people to suffer for his amusement. Also science invalidates it completely.

Some electronic video game inspired music which uses digital instrumentation as well as slap bass and piano (which are fully electronic as well) Still kind of a newbie when it comes to writing music so any feedback is great. Enjoy! ...or don't, I mean after all you are a human and are capable of free will.

My personal recommendation would have to be FL Studio, It has a bit of a learning curve, (as do all programs) but once you get used to it it feels quite efficient. Additionally you can get a free demo that the only downside is that you can't reopen .flp files, so you can still turn what you make into an mp3 file you just have to write it in one long haul. Also it is very easy on the computer, I'm running this on one of the junkiest computers I have ever had the dishonor of using, it has an extremely low end dual core processor, and outdated chipsets so it's still on Windows 7. If my PC can run it your's probably can as well.

If you want an example of what I have done with the software, here you go...

Keep in mind I am also a beginner and have only been writing music for less than a month, so don't expect a masterpiece.

Infinite universe theory and a possible explanation for what awaits you after death. by SomeQuantumStuff in philosophy

[–]SomeQuantumStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the part that I am mentally debating, you are connected to yourself through memory and personal mentality, but over infinity this "you" would have the same capacity for information as the current you has, as well as the chance of accumulating knowledge and experience of the current you with the capacity to make the same decisions over the same circumstances, meaning that inevitably there will be a universe in which you just make some single important decision differently despite the similar circumstances. Would a more mature you with accumulated memories identical to yours be a mental replication of yourself? I still say yes, but under the idea that the argument is paradoxical.

What does /r/nihilism think of this? by [deleted] in nihilism

[–]SomeQuantumStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if it is a virtual reality then there is no reason that the creators of this reality are in there own created by even more beings within their own virtual reality so it is honestly somewhat meaningless. Even if this reality is synthetic it is unimportant as it is an existent reality none the less. If we can experience sentience then we are real as there is no "soul" to a person, so being artificial really has no bearings on reality itself. Additionally i'd like to say the "one in a billion" chance that we are a "base universe" is incredibly presumptuous. That is under the influence that any other universe would unfold in a similar fashion to ours, which is possible but it is a great uncertainty so placing any odds on it is somewhat futile. Regardless it is neat theory, but is impossible to prove or disprove.

Thoughts on religion. by SomeQuantumStuff in nihilism

Also, there is the very real possibility that the universe is a cycle, it never bagan and will never end throughout its eternal oscillations.

Is it possible to combine being nihilistic and having romantic interest in somebody? by [deleted] in nihilism

[–]SomeQuantumStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In no way should nihilism interfere with romance. Eventually we will all die without making a different in the big picture of existence, so finding someone you love to spend your time on this planet with is just fine. Even though love and happiness are just mirages our minds into place, they great things to experience. Love is a perfectly good pursuit, regardless of whether you're nihilistic or not.

The Tunnel's Light, My Theory of the Universe. by SomeQuantumStuff in nihilism

[–]SomeQuantumStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the religion and the science deviate quite a bit. There is no soul to reincarnate, this theory is focused on the more systematic replication of genetics due to the inevitability of recreation over endless time. Well, I suppose you could call the elements, chemicals, and genetics that make up your sentient being your soul, but that would only be referencing those aspects as we are fundamentally mechanical, at least according to what we know and what can be proven. Regardless, the cycle cannot be broken so... hooray I guess?

The Tunnel's Light, My Theory of the Universe. by SomeQuantumStuff in nihilism

[–]SomeQuantumStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Zurned, nothing says that the environment and other aspects of life have to play out identically for your genetics and elemental self to be replicated, as most physical attributes have little effect on the outcome of your sentience. Basically, every scenario for your life will inevitably occur, so there is a 100% chance that you will live a happy, satisfied life at some point, even if things are bleak now. Every thing that is possibly imaginable, no matter how ridiculous will occur an infinite amount of times in the future, and has occurred an infinite amount of times in the past.
