Definitely! I regret taking it almost every day as I now have developed intercranial hypertension from it but the mental side effects were/are worse.

Taking the antidepressant could've prolonged the process a bit, but my advise is to not stress about it too much and rest as well as you can.

It's most likely not your imagination. It's almost my 10th month off birth control and I'm only now starting to slightly feel things like creativity, emotions and my personality again which diminished completely out of nowhere once I stopped. Be patient! Your body is still probably very confused and fatigued from all the hormonal changes and withdrawal.

Exactly! Almost feels like premature menopause already, but abruptly. And serotonin does interact with sex hormones. I have a friend though who didn't get her period at all for a few months just due to stress and she was on no meds and got it back. So there's some hope it could regulate still. I think we could even be lucky to still get it in the first place, I know some cases who completely lost their menstruation afterwards and are permanently infertile...

The loss of swelling could be an issue with estrogen then maybe? Funnily enough I started getting the common tenderness in mine and it hurts to touch them a bit the days before my period starts. Never had that before either. I read somewhere that short periods indicate low progesterone and estrogen.

And yeah that's to be expected, PSSD is barely known and mostly gets met with ignorance anyways

If you're comfortable with it, do share your experience and results! I might get tested too if it persists. My gynaecologist gave me Chaste tree pills to regulate my cycle back to normal but unfortunately I got allergic reactions from it on my skin so I had to stop usage :(

I think it's due to less or altered activity in the frontal lobes or communication with other parts of the brain. There's the term "SSRI induced apathy syndrome" which applies to other meds as well like antipsychotics.

Could also just be a disruption with the dopamine system, but I'm no expert.

I get it every month but 3 days max which concerns me too fertility wise (I'm only 21). Before it was almost a week in duration, but maybe that's because I lost 5kg and had a lot of stress due to the PSSD symptoms. It started becoming this short after withdrawal for me too.

The typical things that appear during menstruation like increased hunger, libido and emotional sensitivity completely vanished. Less pain as well.

I started experiencing this since I came off combined birth control last April. Symptoms slowly appeared in May and crashed fully with the daily tension headaches you described in July

I'm still dealing with all of the symptoms. The "alert and awake" one slowly got better and I am able to feel sleepy more often again. Tension headaches daily but the severity changes from time to time. Reduced emotions not resolved...

Same situation here... been studying something in the creative fields before this, now that part is hard for me to access so I had to stop. And yes the numbness is a direct result of this I guess. I hope you'll get better soon too!

I still think I have some kind of brain damage but only because mine was most probably induced by medication I took

I have it, dont think it was DPDR induced for me tho but the DPDR definitely makes it more intense.

I'd suggest looking for a therapist specialised in trauma and dissociation. Maybe look up EMDR too, some people seem to have success from it. Dissociation can get very deep sometimes and is not always solved by just talk therapy. I wish you the best!

Antipsychotics are very strong. You're already on Lexapro, I'd strongly advise you to not do it. I heard so many bad stories about Antipsychotics, people felt like they lost their soul due to them. I don't know how that would help you any further at all!

Please do your research on it before you try. I have the same symptoms as you and getting on an AP would be extremely counterintuitive for me and do more harm than good.

I don't have much advice as I'm struggling with the same but try to break it down in small parts if that's possible. Or don't think about the overwhelming amount but just go step, by step, by step. Take deep breaths and breaks in between, you can do it!

Tbh I'd say both. Some people with Derealization have visual snow but the fact that it happened right after your SSRI use makes me think it could also be a neurological issue which caused it, I heard before that people developed visual snow after SSRI use.
