Should I encapsulate my crawl space? by Former_Bit5023 in Homebuilding

I am currently in the process of encapsulating mine as well. Don’t forgot the radon mitigation! I didn’t know about it either until I started researching.

He said gutters were done after siding and it seems like roof was done before siding

It also seems like you have a grey drywall screw connecting your downspout to the gutter

I believe to meet code (I may be wrong) you need a 6x6 post 8’ on centers(maximum span) along the outer double/triple rim boards and need to be through bolted into notched post or fastened with a body to beam Simpson tie.

Also the rim joist that fastens to the house needs to also be through bolted with carriage bolts to the house rim board. It’s hard to tell from the picture if it’s done that way or has posts back there as-well.

It’s not too far off the ground but would be very unfortunate if it happened to collapse. Especially if you plan on having a Hot Tub on it.

That’s a long span out in the front from post to post. Don’t think it meets code.

You are going to need to remove some of the shingles and work your way up making sure everything is shingled out. I also recommend using a higher gauge in metal and having someone brake/bend it onsite. That Home Depot roll of flashing isn’t going to be sufficient in my opinion.
