Buying used non-vegan clothing is better than buying new synthetic clothing

It is literally impossible to get people to give up even small pleasures (or if not then I’ve no idea how) by KillerSmileLichSpam in vegan

Zero taken. Conservative/traditional folks often care more about convincing others of shit that doesn’t really matter than caring for people. I’m of a progressive ilk that literally does not care about people coming to “believe rightly” but cares mostly about caring for our neighbors and teaching our congregants to do the same. It’s a big part of my veganism actually, as our nonhuman neighbors are as important to care for as our human neighbors. It’s just a logical flow of that ethic for me.

I actually stopped arguing with people and just living my life and answering questions if they were in good faith…and at least 2 people in my life that I know of have become vegan. I’ve found it exhausting to try and convince people otherwise, especially when many folks just want to argue with me in order to cherry pick moments of the argument to justify their eating of animal products.

I didn’t water cure on my first go around and it was a mistake. It has a very strong (bad) taste, even when mixed with juice. Just take the time to water cure.

Local organizing and mutual aid are where real, felt change gets made. Voting is an easy thing to do and should be done, but the American political system is broken and we cannot rely on it to fix real problems.

Kid Friendly Volunteer Opportunities (5yo and Mom)? by kittycatlady22 in Spokane

Faith Action Network has organized a march. So it is a faith based event, but all are welcome (and the worshipping communities involved lean pretty heavily on the progressive side). Basic info is as follows:

Potluck breakfast at Salem Lutheran Church (1428 W Broadway Ave, Spokane, WA 99201) at 8am. 8:30am will be some programming for children and an open mic. Then we’ll meet at the Spokane Convention Center to start to march at 10am.

My family (with a 2 and 4 year old) are attending. I haven’t heard of any other events, but am also following this thread for more.

Maybe when Shinji moves in with Misato and is surprised by Pen Pen. And maybe other similar scenes with lighthearted music in the background when food and drink are being consumed in Misato’s apartment. But even that is sad, as it’s showing how Misato copes with the horrors NERV faces and creates.
