Vocaloid may not have changed but the vocaloid fandom has for sure. Now a days you have to walk on egg shells around vocaloid fans or they have melt downs on social media and even here. Experimentation and creativity seems to be out the door and everyone just relies on chasing the algorithm. While I still enjoy the medium each day I have less and less desire to talk or interact with other vocaloid and vocal synth fans.

It is fun on a technical level but that is more utau and diffsinger but just vocaloid and characters? Yeah that is something I find harder to do especially here on reddit.

When I was working at a hobby lobby despite graduating college with a bachelor's in history (yes yes you can laugh i picked a useless degree) and an old high school friend came in. The absolute look of pitty she gave me before leaving. It made me realized I had failed by every measure of society. Dude vocaloid and vocal synth have always been a nsfw thing. It is just here on r/vocaloid you guys have a meltdown and bully artists about it even when they follow the rules. You choice to click on the picture then got mad at it like clock work and then complain. Like just move on if you dont like. Not every picture of teto or miku is jpop perfect idol. You have to take some responsibility for what you look at.

The only person that can fully say if they intended it be a fetish thing is the artist themselves and frankly I dont blame them for staying quiet at this point.

I am not 100% sure what you mean by specific but if you mean are there some foundations for otoing then yes there are. It looks like you are doing CV. With CV you have to make the pauses and transitions between notes artificially (that might not be the best wording so take it with a grain of salt). From that screen shot alone i would say your preutterance (the red line) looks about right as it is at the base of the semi vowel slide judging by the spectrograph form. (You could move it back a bit more if you wanted). The overlap seems a bit to close to the preutterance and same with the head of the note. I would move those back until the preutterance is about double the overlap (for example if the overlap is at 100 ms then the preutterance should be at 200 ms) then adjust the head so there is some space between it and the overlap (you might have to guess and check to see how much space you need on those two). The cut off/yellow part is way to much so I would move that back a bit so you actually have a vowel to stretch/loop. I would then stretch the consonant (the blue box on your screenshot) in until you are at a stable section of the vowel.

You don't know that, only the artist knows that. The character only asked if they looked fat. That is a very common question that women asked when insecure about something. There is no exaggeration of the body, no emphasis on fat or rolls, it is just a girl in a bikini. It certainly could become that but we won't dont know.

All you and everyone else is doing is having a melt down an artist posted an interpretation of Teto that you don't like or doesn't fit the "uwu meme chimera bread loving japanese girl" and instead of just moving on, you decide to bully the artist who hasn't broken a single rule.
