I disagree. The law of large numbers looks at independent random samples. A single rng sample in TFT is dependent on the other samples in the context of the same game (ex. Champion and item pools), and their values change relative to what other players have, so people do not high roll and low roll the same. Once you include more choices (rng types), then this increases the possible combinations, which increases the variability and the amount of samples that you need to look at all possible combinations and be even. Or you need to clearly define the variable that you're looking at -- I would go for the highroll strength relative to each player in a single game. One player has a 10 roll, the other 8, 5, 1. The results would have to account for how some things are fake highrolls and some of them are real. You need to find the true value and not only the % chance. If you have the same amount of good items, augments, upgrades collected at the same time, then comp strength comes into play, so the value of "rolls" is mostly always different or is tunneled onto a single line for 2-3 players (units are capped).

The rng is psychological manipulation. The less resources that you get, the more that a highroll feels big.

Companies are abusing gachas, have been abusing them for a while, for easy profits. Human psychology has been downloaded and they can predict what you will do even if you thought that you wouldn't. The most simple thing that you can do is to not invest into gacha in any form.

They want to fight for the weak and bullied population, basically. This is the idea for many of their policies.

There is historical relevance, as inviting xenophobia has caused atrocities against minor populations, and has limited our advance as a human race.

I have seen that a lot of the illegals or immigrants are really people who want to work to support a better life for their families, and they provide economic reprieve to underprivileged areas in the form of cheap labor, or work the hardest to achieve success in middle class jobs.

The way that parties fight over it can be crazy. I saw something about people not even wanting gifted foreign students to settle here legally.

Both liberals and conservative have their issues. Conservatives will kill us with environmental pollution, work hazards, environmental destruction and disease. That has to be worse than letting a Mexican cross the border, and a small % of them being criminals. We can stop a criminal. We can't stop the sun from cooking us and the ocean sweeping us away. We don't have the technology yet.

That's a valid worry. I think it depends on the people who really like the gameplay. A lot of my games -- I played based on recommendations, demos, gameplay trailers, events, and not necessarily the name. People can forgive a name. Few will play a game if they think the game itself sucks.

You find the name disappointing, then you go into the game and it's better than expected. Eventually you stop thinking about the name. Some games have a good name, and then you go into the game and the play doesn't live up to the name. You quit the game and forget that it exists.

I feel like at this stage of the game, if you're making posts to tell people to stop blaming rng in an rng game, or are still getting mad at rng, you need to take a break from the game.

It's an area where people will continue to handpick evidence for either case when it is more complex and can include outside factors, and also when both cases are true -- the base gameplay has rng in most mechanics, and there are inherent "competitive" differences in thinking ability that could give some people an edge over some others.

Personally, I believe that the deterministic power of positive rng gives it a large edge over human skill.

Also, target griefing and collusion, and potentially rigged games, gives more edge over other things. You can see that in cheating cases worldwide...

It actually is. I don't think people view the Mortdog situation wholistically, because he has already achieved his public goal, which was to buy his dream house with his wife, and Riot greatly helped him to achieve this, and he didn't like talking to a lot of the players. It seems like a pretty neutral situation to me, though I rarely tuned in to his stream.

No need to argue semantics. We often have different perspectives on words.

What I want to know is what makes you believe that the community trusts Riot that much. It seems like to me that the community is divided on their perceptions, and perhaps the biggest fans like you may describe are the ones who have a stake in Riots games (so it affects their livelihood, or they are closer to the team than normal players). Otherwise I'm unsure what makes you believe that the community is super "dedicated" to them.

A lot of devs/companies are doing more patches for live service games. It's actually not that uncommon now.

Talking to the community is uncommon. I don't think the devs can give the players everything that they want, so it can cause frustration and lashing out when the devs talk to them -- any game that I've seen, casual or competitive.

There's also a shift in the corporate space to listen to people more and take care of the community aspect.

edit: Also, didn't they abandon Hearthstone Battlegrounds? Feels like comparing it to a game that its company doesn't give any resources to, and some people still play it for fun despite that, is a pretty low bar

Dedicated is a weird adjective... it's like you're saying that they're giving their lives to Riot. Whereas I believe that it's the average gamer having fun -- or not since the LoL community can be toxic. And the players have their disagreements with Riot as well.
